The Company Held 2019 Mid-Year Communication Meeting


In the afternoon of August 22, the company held 2019 Mid-Year Communication Meeting at the 3/F conference hall in Quanzhou office building to analyze the current serious situation and deploy the key work in the next five months.

The meeting stressed that, under the current serious situation, in order to complete the annual tasks and targets, the time is pressing, the task is heavy, and the difficulties and pressure we are faced with are great. The next five months are critical for us to overcome the difficulties, make breakthroughs and achieve the annual targets. The more serious the situation is and the more pressing the time is, the more resolute the development targets shall be and the more vigorous the drive for development shall be. Only by clearly recognizing the situation, enhancing confidence, inspiring morale, concentrating energy, taking more actions and making more efforts with the sense of urgency and responsibility, sticking to the targets, forging ahead with pressure, sprinting with all our might and completing all work in front of us, we can ensure the completion of annual tasks.

Company management Gu Yuefeng, Joost Emmen, Nouraddin A. Yousuf and Lin Xu attended the meeting. General managers and deputy general managers of all departments, business team managers and employee representatives attended the meeting. Vice president Nouraddin A. Yousuf chaired the meeting.

Gu Yuefeng, Secretary of the Company Party Committee and Chairman of the company, delivered a speech. He commented that since this year, in faced with the severe situation, all employees, under the leadership of OOP of the company, had made concerted efforts and overcame many difficulties, despite of the unfavorable start in Q1, the situation was quickly turned in Q2 and the profits continued to improve. These were inseparable from the hard work of all employees. He expressed gratitude to all employees on behalf of the BOD.

Gu Yuefeng analyzed the current international and domestic market environment and the severe situation faced by the company. He pointed out that the market opening pace was accelerating, and the company would encounter competition with large international companies in the future. We must plan ahead, effectively enhance market awareness and crisis awareness, and accelerate the improvement of profitability. In combination with the theme education, we should identify the gaps and solve the problems with blade inward, further change our mindset, rely on no one but ourselves, be alert, give full play to the advantages of integrated refining and chemical, innovate systems and mechanisms, promote resource integration, people optimization, market exploration and margin improvement, and strive to be competitive in respect of reform and innovation.

In view of the focuses in the next five months, Gu Yuefeng put forward three requirements: the first is to strengthen the improvement and coaching plan currently advocated by the company, further enhance the leadership and execution at all levels; the second is to strengthen communication and coordination, starting from the inside, to increase working efficiency at all levels and links, to achieve efficient operation and high-quality development; the third is to strengthen the education of situations and tasks, and guide all employees to work together and forge ahead towards the established targets, so as to smoothly realize annual targets and complete annual tasks in a more positive mental state.

At the meeting, president Joost Emmen summarized the business performance from January to July 2019, recognized the remarkable achievements in safety, environmental protection, reliability, profitability, people and actions in the first half of the year, and shared the progress of the top 10 key tasks.

Joost Emmen required that in the next five months, the focus of the work should be the top 10 key tasks, further securing and promoting the implementation, transforming the plan into actions and achievements, achieving safe and reliable operation and profitability, and ensuring the smooth realization of the commitment to BOD.

Vice president Nouraddin A. Yousuf expected that all employees of the company to strengthen communication and cooperation, continuously improve performance and smoothly achieve the established targets.

At the meeting, Vice president Lin Xu delivered the report on profit improvement and action plan. In his report, he reviewed the profit performance from January to July 2019, analyzed the main gaps and the situations faced by the company, and deployed profit improvement action plan for the next five months.

At the meeting, entrusted by vice president Zhao Tianxing, HSE General Manager Mak Chee Wah made a special speech on safety performance improvement.

At the meeting, president Joost Emmen answered the questions to employees about safety, profit, salary, reliability, and contractor management.
