In the afternoon of August 21, the company held the technology innovation studio launch meeting in the 2/F meeting room in the engineer building. Gu Yuefeng, secretary of the Company Party Committee and Chairman of the company, and Lin Xu, vice president of the company, attended the meeting and unveiled the “Technology Innovation Studio”.

Gu Yuefeng congratulated on the launch of the technology innovation studio and shared his own experiences about the fun, challenges and sense of achievement in technology innovation work. He fully recognized the innovative achievements under the leadership of Technical & Planning Department, such as the development of new polyolefin products, jet fuel production in HCU, and shutdown of DCU. He pointed out that it’s a good opportunity to set up the technology innovation studio, and hoped that the engineers could jointly maintain, participate in and give full play to their own advantages, think about problems and propose innovative topics by standing on the height of integrated refining and chemical operation.

Gu Yuefeng hoped that engineers could continue to learn cutting-edge knowledge, expand their knowledge and improve themselves, be open and communicate with other enterprises to make greater contributions to the long-term development of the company. He said that, as the consultant to the technology innovation studio, he would give support and help to the studio and would also participate in it. His comments greatly enhanced the engineers’ recognition of the technology innovation studio and stimulated their enthusiasm for innovation work.

Lin Xu commented that, as the core department of the company and the cornerstone and foundation of development of the company, Technical & Planning Department should not only make the technology innovation studio solid, but also integrate the functions of Technical & Planning Department with the studio, and above all, should give full play to the role of the technology innovation platform, through holding various technology forums and learning the advanced technologies in the industry, attract more youth talents to join the studio, strive to train new talents and reserve a substantial talent pool for the company.

Tang Liyan, General Manager of Technical & Planning Department, introduced the objectives, requirements and activity system of the innovation studio, requiring the studio to carry out research on the key and difficult problems of the company, and better mobilize the enthusiasm of engineering and technical personnel of Technical & Planning Department to study and practice skills hard through the establishment of the innovation studio platform, so as to improve the ability of technology innovation, development and execution. The mission of the studio is “no ceiling to technology, no limit to innovation”, he hoped to give full play to the role of “engine” of Technical & Planning Department in technology innovation and company development by the strength of the innovation studio.

At the meeting, technical research projects such as separate storage and reprocessing of slop oil, solving the bottleneck of reaching the expected naphtha yield after the revamp of DHF and the bottleneck of hydrogen balance after the load increase of DHF were also communicated.

It is reported that the technology innovation studio will cooperate with professional research institutes and universities to establish a regular communication mechanism; obtain market and industry information from Marketing & Sales Department to understand market demand and industry changes in time; discuss with the master plan group to drive the implementation of large capital projects, provide project proposals to the master plan and other actions for future development of the company, actively carry out technological improvement and innovation and play the role of technological “think tank” to contribute to the high-quality development of the company in the new era.
