On the morning of July 1, FREP held 2019 Plant Open Day activity, welcoming the community children's representatives - 80 small guests from Quangang District Second Experimental Primary School Education Group.

Dreams mark the beginning of learning, and dreams begin with learning. Nouraddin A. Yousuf, FREP Vice President, welcomed the community children's representatives to FREP. He said: "One thousand and four hundred years ago, there was an Arabic saying that went like 'we will seek knowledge along the Silk Road to China.'" He encouraged the little friends to have dreams and study hard to make their dreams come true.

Nouraddin A. Yousuf said that Fujian Refining & Petrochemical Co., Ltd. and the community are a big family. We welcome the community children with dream of building their hometown to join FREP after they grow up, so as to contribute to the development of the petrochemical industry and local economic construction.

During the event, the children watched the company's promotional film and the short science popularization movie of " ABC about Oil Refining ", and visited the exhibition hall and on-site units with great interest to understand FREP good practices in safety and environmental protection.

The company volunteers’ vivid explanations enabled everyone to have a more intuitive and clear understanding of the extensive use of petrochemical derivatives in daily life. When the originally strange oil refining and chemicals are connected with such daily necessities as clothes, water cups, curtains, carpets and etc., the children’s enthusiasm of learning and understanding the petrochemical industry was ignited. They had a positive interactive questioning and answering with FREP volunteers. Everyone rushed to answer questions in the activity, thusly pushing the activity to a climax.

Finally, the children painted what they have seen, heard, and thought in the Open Day Activity into an eight-meter giant picture "FREP in My Eyes" with the brush – beside Laojun Rock and under the East and West Tower, the refining units and the super-large oil tanker are harmoniously integrated with the blue sky, white clouds, schools and communities. FREP 2019 science popularization themed Open Day Activity successfully came to an end in the cheers of the children's successful completion of the painting.

Themed with science popularization of the petrochemical industry, this Open Day Activity responded to the call of General Secretary Xi Jinping's “Dream starts with learning”, caring for children, serving children, improving the community children’s scientific knowledge about petrochemical production operation activities, and providing children in the community with favorable social environment and opportunities of practice. The development of the activity is not only a social responsibility fulfilled by FREP, but also a gift to the 98^th anniversary of the founding of the Party. (Zheng Xiaodan)
