The Party Committee of the Company Held a Special Party Class to Celebrate the 98^th Anniversary of the Founding of CPC and Theme Education

The conference called on all Party members of the Company to inherit and carry forward the Party’s glorious tradition and fine work style, deeply promote all Party members to study, publicize and implement Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to have it penetrated into depth, penetrated into heart and penetrated into practical work, to temper our political character of loyalty, cleanness and responsibility, to make our new long march on the new starting point and new journey of the development of the Company, to make positive contributions to secure the victory of Sinopec Group  comprehensive and sustainable development, building of a world-class company and implementation of catching-up and surpassing for Fujian Province's adherence to high-quality development and to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of new China with outstanding achievements.

In the afternoon June 28, the Company Party Committee ceremoniously held a special Party class to celebrate the 98^th anniversary of the founding of CPC and theme education at the theater in Fulian living area in Quangang.

Company Party Committee members Gu Yuefeng, Liu Xiangdong, Zhang Xiguo, Yang Hongbin, Hu Hongye, Chen Feishan, Lin Xu and Zhao Tianxing attended the conference. Liu Xiangdong, Deputy Party Secretary of the Company Party Committee and General Manager of Fujian Petrochemical Company Limited, presided over the conference. Entrusted by Sinopec Group Fifth Rounds Supervision Group, Hu Yanhe, Deputy Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation and Director of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Department, attended the conference for guidance.

The atmosphere in the theater of the Company was solemn and warm. Above the rostrum was hung the conference title of “Special Party Class for Celebrating the 98^th Anniversary of the Founding of CPC and Theme Education”, in the middle of the rear curtain was the emblem of “sickle and hammer” with 10 red flags on both sides. On the second floor of the theater, a slogan was hung in the balcony: “Remain True to Original Aspiration and Follow the Party, Keep Mission Firmly in Mind and Shoulder Responsibilities Bravely, and Strive for High-quality Development of the Company in the New Era!”

The conference began with the majestic national anthem.

First of all, the swearing-in ceremony for joining the Party was held, 19 new Party members raised their right hands, clenched their fists and solemnly swore in front of the bright red Party flag, all the participating Party members stood up and renewed the admission oath together.

According to the unified deployment and arrangement of theme education “remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind” of the Company, Gu Yuefeng, Party Secretary of the Company and Chairman of the Board of Directors, delivered the special Party class.

Gu Yuefeng, on behalf of the Party Committee of the Company, first extended festive greetings to the majority of Party members and Party workers, expressed high respect to all the cadres and employees who have worked hard on all front lines and expressed warm congratulations to the commended advanced primary party organizations, outstanding Party members and outstanding Party workers and all new Party members who have joined the Party with honor.

Gu Yuefeng led the meeting attendees to deeply learn and understand the glorious history and good tradition of the Party. He said that as communists in the new era, we should not slacken our efforts or be complacent. The road ahead of us was full of new challenges given by the era. however, as long as we continue to uphold the original aspiration and mission of “seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation” and persist in inheriting and carrying forward the revolutionary ideals, will and character and spiritual realm of the Chinese communists, we would surely make the long march of the new era and march from victory to victory.

Gu Yuefeng pointed out that theme education “remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind” was an important event in the political life of all Party members, a major project for Party members to take “root” and solidify “soul” and gather strength as well as an important carrier for Party self-governance exercised fully and with rigor, we shall adhere to the overall promotion and ensure the theme education “remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind” gain actual effect.

In combination with the key contents of the theme education, Gu Yuefeng stressed that the first was to have a deep understanding of the 12-word general requirements of “keeping original aspiration”, “undertaking the mission”, “finding the gaps” and “focusing on implementation”; the second was to have a deep understanding of the objectives and tasks; the third was to implement the key measures of the theme education.

In view of the specific measures to carry out learning activities, Gu Yuefeng pointed out: first, learning and education were the foundation, which shall be controlled in a strict, honest and detailed manner; second, investigation and research were the focus, which shall be problem-oriented; third, examination of problems was the key, which shall be accurate, clarified and thorough; fourth, the implementation of rectification was the core, which shall be earnestly controlled in a strict and honest manner.

Gu Yuefeng required that the first was to take continuous improvement of work style and opposition to formalism as the main content and important starting point of the theme education to educate and guide Party members and cadres to keep in mind the aim of the Party, adhere to the ideological line of seeking truth from facts, establish a correct view of political achievements, do solid work and change work style, avoid the problem of not lasting long, because the style problem was repetitive and stubborn, which might fluctuate while shifting focus and efforts, therefore the style construction was a long term task; the second was to strengthen the implementation of responsibilities, cadres at all levels shall act as good “designers” as well as good “construction team leads”, take the lead in learning, researching, reflecting and developing countermeasures, shall earnestly rectify their own problems instead of only focusing on their subordinates, and be good leaders and pace makers by taking own initiatives.

Yang Hongbin, Deputy Secretary of the Company Party Committee, Secretary of the Company Discipline Inspection Commission and Chairman of Company Labor Union, reported on the advanced collectives and outstanding individuals commended by Quanzhou Municipal Committee of CPC, and read out the Company's decision to commend advanced primary Party organizations, outstanding Party members and outstanding Party workers.

The Party branch of PO BT was awarded the title of “advanced Party organization” by Quanzhou Municipal Committee of CPC; Cai Xiping, Deputy General Manager of T&P Department, was awarded the title of “outstanding Party worker” by Quanzhou Municipal Committee of CPC. Yang Hua of Linde-FPCL Gas Company was awarded the title of "outstanding Party member" by Quanzhou Municipal Committee of CPC.

The conference commended 10 Party organizations including the Party branch of EO/EG BT as advanced primary Party organizations, 70 comrades including Lian Wennan as outstanding Party members, and 13 comrades including Wu Zhongsheng as outstanding Party workers.

Liu Xiangdong made a closing speech. He commented that Comrade Gu Yuefeng has given us a rich and instructive Party class focusing on in-depth study and implementation of Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and closely combining with the actual situation of the Company, this Party class was not only a new education of the Party spirit to the majority of Party members of the Company, but also an awakening of the original aspiration and a re-sublimation of the mission.

Liu Xiangdong required that grass-roots Party organizations at all levels shall combine the theme education “remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind” to seriously convey, study and implement the spirit of this conference, earnestly integrate ideas and actions into all decisions and arrangements of the Company and the Company Party Committee, recognize the situation, shoulder responsibilities and do solid work. The Party building work shall be considered, planned and promoted under the big coordinate system for realizing the high-quality development of the Company in the new era, further enhance the sense of responsibility and mission of “working for the Party in the economic field”, strive to make the Party building work bright, distinctive and effective, continuously promote the in-depth integration of the Party building work with the central work of the production and operation, strive to deliver the Company's annual objectives and tasks, lay a solid foundation for the high-quality development of the Company in the new era and celebrate the 70^th anniversary of the founding of New China with outstanding achievements.

All attendees stood up and sang The Internationale, which called the successful close of the conference.

About 500 people including representatives of the Company party members, representatives of the commended collectives and individuals and new Party members attended the conference.
