In the morning of April 17^th, Quangang District Petrochemical Industry Instrument Maintenance Skill Competition was kicked off in FREP.

Mr. Yang Hongbin, deputy secretary of Company Party Committee, secretary of Company Discipline Committee and chairman of Company Labor Union, Mr. Huang Shengfu, deputy director of Quangang District People's Congress, and Mr. Lin Ruiqun, executive vice chairman of Quangang District Federation of Trade Unions, attended the opening ceremony. Director of FREP Party & Union Dept. Mr. Li Gang chaired the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Mr. Yang Hongbin commented in his speech that holding occupational skill competition was not only a demonstration but also a test to employees’ skill, which was significant for stimulating and guiding professional competence building and promoting skilled personnel training mechanism. At the same time, it was also a good way to improve the selection mechanism of skilled talents, to open up the channels for training talents, to promote advanced and cultivate and set up models, and to carry out on-post training and skill competition activities and to enhance internal cohesion and external competitiveness of the enterprise.

Mr. Yang Hongbin commented that FREP would learn the good experience and best practices of the participating companies, further strengthen skilled personnel training, continuously improve employees’ skill, strive to create a competitive atmosphere where employees could emulate, learn from, catch up with, help and in turn surpass each other, and to provide good environment for the growth of skilled talents.

The two-day competition was conducted in forms of written test and skill operation. It mainly examined theoretical knowledge, instrument problem handling, PLC and ITCC. The contestants, focused on the theme of promoting job skill, worked hard to compete for the first place, learnt during competition, exerted a high level of skill, showed good spirit, and create favorable atmosphere for studying hard, improving skill and performing responsibilities.

Liu Xiaolong from FREP won the first prize. Liu Qianhong from FREP, and Lu Sen from Linde (Quanzhou) Carbon Dioxide Co. won the second prizes; Chen Weijian from FREP, Guo Quanyuan from Fujian Meizhou Bay Chlor-Alkali Industry Co., Ltd. and Qiu Qinglin from Quanzhou Fuhai Grain and Oil Company won the third prizes.

FREP, Fujian Meizhou Bay Chlor-Alkali Industry Co., Ltd. and Quanzhou Fuhai Grain and Oil Company won the top three group prizes. The competition organizing committee, after discussion, decided to award the outstanding organization awards to FREP, Fujian Meizhou Bay Chlor-Alkali Industry Co., Ltd. and Quanzhou Thermal Power of Guodian Corporation.

The Competition was jointly hosted by Quangang District Federation of Trade Unions and Quangang District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, organized by FREP Labor Union and co-organized by Quangang District Emergency Management Bureau. There was 1 first prize, 2 second prizes and 3 third prizes. The first prize winner would be awarded the honorary title of “Quangang Ace Worker”; and the top three prizes winners would be awarded by Quangang District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau the honorary title of “Occupational Skill Master of Quangang District”.
