The Company Held Shared Pallet Unveiling Ceremony

In this beautiful and crisp autumn with the sweet scent of osmanthus, a season of harvest, the company held the unveiling ceremony of shared pallets of polyolefin products in the morning of October 18. With that, the second generation of shared pallets has been put into commercial operation in China.

President Joost Emmen and Vice President Nouraddin A. Yousuf attended the ceremony. Sinopec Chemical Department, Sinopec Logistics Management Office, Sinopec South China Chemical Commercial Holding Company, customers of the company, shareholders' representatives, and management of Process Department and Marketing & Sales Department attended the ceremony.

President Joost Emmen welcomed the guests to attend the ceremony of shared pallets. He said that this was the first time application of shared pallets in China, and use of shared pallets is an innovative action benefiting safety, environmental protection, quality and efficiency, and in line with the concept of high-quality development of China in the new era.

President Joost Emmen expressed thanks to the company's employees, contractors and customers who participated in the project. He said, "I applaud for your spirit and perseverance. It is with your whole-hearted dedication that we have the first time application of shared pallets. I hope you can continue to work hard for better operation and development of shared pallets."

Vice President Nouraddin A. Yousuf expressed his gratitude to all parties involved in the project for their contributions. He said that the project was completed within a short time, which reflected the team work spirit of sincere cooperation. He hoped to see strengthened cooperation and mutual development in the future.

Ye Ming, deputy director of Sinopec Logistics Management Office, Qiu Changshong, senior expert of Sinopec Chemical Department, and Shi Xiang of Yelo Co. shared the development process of shared pallets. They said that in more than one year, FREP proactively participated and completed a lot of work in sample testing, standard formulating, product improvement and other aspects, which ensured the smooth progress of shared pallet project. The second generation shared pallets were first applied in FREP, which provided a demonstration for the industry and showed a new logistics mode.

After the ceremony, the guests watched the demonstration of the new truck loading mode. Two special transport vehicles jointly developed by FREP, Ruisheng Company and the vehicle manufacturer were parked at the designated locations, with the assistance of two forklifts, the loading of 30 tons of polyolefin products was completed in less than 10 minutes, while in the past, it took at least one hour by manual loading. The loading speed was increased significantly. Then, the operator walked to the side of the trucks and swiped the code with a scanner in hand. In this way, all the data of the shared pallets were received. With a click of “send”, the pallet data were uploaded, and the information was immediately publicized on the cloud platform, which fully reflected the charm of science and technology.

It was introduced that the shared pallets is a shared and recycle economy project with nature of green, environmental, energy saving, efficient and smart. It is a carrier connecting the whole logistics chains of products from packaging, storage, loading and unloading, transportation to pallet recycling. It can not only reduce the labor cost, improve the loading efficiency, but also improve the appearance of products, reduce transportation damage rate, and play a positive role in controlling logistics cost and improving customer satisfaction.

Since the start of the project, FREP has closely cooperated with the progressing of the project, become the first batch of pilot unit of Sinopec, assisted Sinopec in formulating a number of technical indicators such as the second generation shared pallet standard and film covering standard, and conducted a large number of model selection tests on special vehicles, and achieved important results.
