As the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China was approaching, on September 11, an inspection group led by Sun Guangyu, director of the Hazardous Chemicals Supervision Division of the Ministry of Emergency Management, visited FREP for special safety inspection. President Joost Emmen, Vice President Lin Xu and Vice President Zhao Tianxing attended the meeting.

The inspection group inspected EOEG central control room, unit site, tank farms of Offsites Business Team, and listened to the report of the company's production safety to understand the details of the responsibility system of production safety, safety training and education, risk classified control and potential hazard investigation and rectification, safety supervision of "two important and one critical", solid waste management, emergency rescue management and safety performance improvement of the company.

Sun Guangyu fully affirmed that the company attached great importance to production safety, and highly appreciated the achievements made in the production and management of hazardous chemicals.

Sun Guangyu put forward three requirements for the production safety management: first, FREP should attach great importance to production safety, strengthen the implementation of responsibility, always adhere to the idea of safety first, firmly establish the "red line awareness" and "bottom line thinking", earnestly do a good job in risk identification/ classification/ control, and establish/ improve the work mechanism of hazard identification and management; second, FREP should manage production safety with higher standard and stricter requirements, introduce and integrate advanced management concepts and experience of Chinese and foreign shareholders, proactively explore new mode of safety management, effectively implement each management measure, strengthen the primary responsibility of the enterprise, strive to be the leading company in safety management in chemical industry, and lead the high-quality development of chemical industry; third, on the basis of effective production safety, FREP should fulfill social responsibilities, firmly establish the image of a responsible corporate citizen, and further promote the development of local economy.

President Joost Emmen expressed his gratitude to the inspection group for their hard work and pertinent comments/ suggestions; FREP attached great importance to issues found in this special safety inspection and would make rectifications immediately; for issues and weak points found in the inspection, FREP will carry out site-wide identificaiton and rectification to address similar issues if any, specify rectification measures and responsible persons, implement rectifications in accordance with the principle of "four not let go", and continue to conduct in-depth identifications and rectifications of potential hazards to ensure safety of people's lives and property of the state and individuals.

Qiu Meihui, deputy inspector of Fujian Emergency Management Department, Zhang Shuwu, deputy director of Quanzhou Emergency Management Bureau, Yan Chaohui, director of Quangang District Government, Liu Minjian, director of Quangang Petrochemical Industry Park, and relevant management personnel of FREP departments and Business Teams accompanied the inspection.
