on September 27^th, a days of cool autumn breeze, osmanthus fragrance and bright sunshine, the Company ushered in a group of special guests: more than 100 representatives from relevant departments of Quangang District Government and surrounding communities. They walked into FREP’s plant area to participate in “2018 Turnaround Plant Open Day” event held by the Company for experiencing mystery of green and safe production in a modern petrochemical enterprise from zero distance and learning more about the Company's 2018 turnaround.

President Mr. Joost Emmen attended the event and gave a welcome speech. He said that representatives were welcome to enter the enterprise. FREP was born and grew up in this land and was closely connected with the communities. The Company's prosperity and development over the years had been benefiting from the understanding, support and help of the communities. FREP was grateful for that. In the past few years, the Company had promoted the harmonious development of the Company and communities through festival visits, plant open day, poverty relief and other community-friendly activities.

He pointed out that in order to further improve safety, environmental performance and reliability of production facilities, the Company would begin turnaround in November. As a responsible enterprise, the Company would minimize the impact on the surrounding environment and people's lives during this period, and contribute to building a harmonious community and protect the clear blue sky.

Vice president Lin Xu tended gratitude to the communities for their long-term support for the Company's development. He said that FREP was a company with strong sense of social responsibility. It attached importance to communications with the government and communities. On the basis of continuously improving the level of safety and environmental protection, through the innovation of technology, management and personnel, the Company had achieved continuous high-quality development, which was inseparable from communities’ support. The Company had been actively participating in public welfare undertakings, improving the community environment to reward the development results to the society and “refuel” the community neighbors’ longing for a better life.

He said that during the turnaround, the Company would strictly abide by requirements of laws and regulations, strive to improve safety and environmental performance, and maintain open, transparent and smooth communications with surrounding communities to ensure the safety, green and environmental protection.

Staff from MECH Dept. and HSE Dept. answered in details. The questions raised by community residents' representatives about safety, environmental protection and the Company’s development planning.

In the exhibition hall, the representatives learned more about the valiant struggle history of FREP; listened to the introduction of petrochemical process and the cutting-edge technology of the petrochemical industry. Afterwards, they visited the new refining site, ethylene, polyolefins and other units. Everyone had a deeper understanding of the safety and environmental protection for refinery and chemical units.

Representatives all expressed their expectations that FREP would keep safe and environmentally friendly operation of units and be a good neighbor of the communities.

The Company’s development is inseparable from the support of communities. FREP has always been committed to becoming a “responsible corporate citizen” and “a good neighbor of communities”.
