The Company Officially Launched the Youth Employee Professional Skills Competition


In the morning of May 17th, the kick-off meeting of the Company's Youth Employee Professional Skills Competition was held in the conference room of the exhibition hall in Quangang plant. Vice President Mr. Nouraddin A. Yousuf and the deputy secretary of Party Committee, secretary of Discipline Committee and chairman of Labor Union Mr. Yang Hongbin attended the meeting. Mr. Jiang Yongqing, Vice Chairman of Quanzhou Federation of Trade Unions, was invited to the meeting.

Mr. Yang Hongbin commented in his speech that with the acceleration of the employees’ replacement, the young employees' group was constantly growing. The young employees shall study job skills and grow into talents to provide an important guarantee for the future sustainable development of the Company. He stressed that the purpose of organizing the Competition was to encourage young employees to hold fast to their posts, study assiduously and work hard. He encouraged the young employees to strive for success and work hard, to learn knowledge and practice skills, to combine knowing and doing and to be a doer.

In his mobilization speech, Mr. Nouraddin A. Yousuf commented that the Company owns first-class advanced production equipment, and needs high-quality operational/ maintenance personnel to achieve world-class operation performance. The Company has always attached great importance to employees’ training, and had trained a large number of outstanding young operators through the apprentices program. The youth employee professional skills competition was a good opportunity to test the training results. He expected the contestants to strictly abide by safety regulations, give full play to their own strengths and achieve good results.

Mr. Jiang Yongqing expressed his congratulations on the launch of the competition on behalf of Quanzhou Federation of Trade Unions. He said that the professional skills competition was a platform for improving skills and it was of great significance. Through this platform, not only talents could be found, but also gaps could be identified and benchmarks could be set, thus to improve the overall skill level of employees. FREP did good job in this area. He hoped that FREP could proactively explore new ways and share experience with relative activities organized in Quanzhou.

The competition involved a total of 140 young employees, including those employed in recent years from 9 BTs, and fitter group/ electrical maintenance group/ electrical operation group/ instrument group in Mechanical Dept., and Product Quality Center in Technical & Planning Dept. The competition included written examination and actual operations and conducted by the disciplines of production operation, instrument, electrical, fitters and lab respectively.

The competition was held to better motivate young employees in the Company in studying technology and practicing skills, improve the overall quality of front-line young employees, promote the development of yong employees and build a platform for them to demonstrate skill and made technical exchanges.  (Journalist)
