On January 5^th, Mr. Ji Guoyou, leader of the Inspection Team of Safe Production Committee of the State Council and inspector in the Incident Investigation Division in State Administration of Coal Mine Safety, led a group of four experts and accompanied by inspector Mr. Dai Wenpeng in Fujian Administration of Coal Mine Safety and Deputy Mayor of Quanzhou Government Mr. Xiao Hanhui, visited FREP for 2017 annual safety production inspection. The Company management Mr. Joost Emmen, Mr. Nouraddin A. Yousuf, Mr. Lin Xu and others accompanied the inspection.

Mr. Ji Guoyou conveyed the spirit of the safety inspection of Safe Production Committee of the State Council, and emphasized that the purpose of field inspection was for better supervision on implementation of the safety production measures. He said, as a large-scale Sino-foreign joint venture petrochemical enterprise, both the Chinese and foreign shareholders of FREP have rich experience in safety management and advanced safety management concepts. He expected that FREP could leverage these good resources to implement safety measures, strengthen responsibility system, and be a benchmark in the industry.

Mr. Joost Emmen said, FREP is committed “to be a world-class petrochemical company with sustainable competitiveness”, not only by strictly implementing national safety production requirements, but also by including the safety of communities into the KPI of the Company, thus to be a good neighbor and partner of the communities. The visit of the inspection team was a good improvement opportunity for the Company, i.e. timely identify the gaps in safety management if any. He hoped that the Company could have better interaction and gain more support from government authorities, thus to improve the Company safety production performance.

Mr. Lin Xu reported the general situation of the Company safety production. He said, the Company had been conscientiously implementing the spirit of the Central Party Committee’s important instructions on safety production, by giving top priorities to safety, environmental protection and occupational health, proactively promoting the concept of “all incidents are preventable”, earnestly implementing the entity responsibility of safety production, actively carrying out safety publicity and education and special rectification, improving the systems for potential hazards identification & rectification, and risks prevention & control, and putting forth efforts to enhance the overall safety performance of the Company to maintain the good momentum of safety production.

Experts in the inspection team inspected the Company’s safety production responsibility system, safe production standardization, emergency rescue management, safety training, safety responsibility implementation and occupational health, and made random inspection focusing on the implementation of incident closed-loop management, employee safety awareness and special operation etc.

Management and responsible persons from Process Department, Technical & Planning Department and HSE Department participated in the report meeting and accompanied the inspection. (Journalist)
