In the afternoon of March 27^th, Company Labor Union convened the 8^th Session of the Second Plenary Meeting at the Exhibition Hall. The meeting was presented by Company management including Mr. Chen Xiaobo, Mr. Nouraddin A. Yousuf, Mr. Joost Emmen and Mr. Yang Hongbin.

Mr. Yang Hongbin, Deputy Secretary of Company Party Committee, Secretary of the Discipline Committee and Chairman of the Labor Union delivered a work report entitled as Increase Efforts in Guiding the Thoughts and Gather Strengths to Keep Pushing forward Healthy and Stable Development of the Company. In the report he summarized the accomplishments of the Labor Union in 2016, and deployed upcoming tasks for the Labor Union in 2017. First, increase efforts to guide the thoughts and improve all employees’ sense of ownership; second, uphold the spirit of model workers, and make efforts to build a high-quality organization; third, employees always come first, and build a harmonious labor relationship; fourth, remain strict in building the Labor Union to increase the cohesion of the Labor Union.

At the meeting, the finance work of the Labor Union in 2016 was reported. Representatives from Product Quality Center of T&P Dept., EO/EG Business Team of Process Dept., Employee Innovation Workshop and Mechanical Dept. exchanged their own experiences in grassroots work in Labor Union.

The meeting also honored the advanced units, advanced individuals, outperformed shift leads and foremen in performing work of the Labor Union, Outstanding Shift Teams and Skilled Workers won in the Employees’ Skills Competition as well as outstanding units won in the Equipment Reliability Contest.

In giving remarks, Vice President Mr. Nouraddin A. Yousuf and Vice President Mr. Joost Emmen thanked the Labor Union for organizing various events and activities and their contributions to the Company’s construction and development. Company operation shall be people-oriented. The growth of employees in return promotes the growth of the company; and growth of the company also creates a platform for employees’ development, thus ultimately achieving a win-win result.

At last, Mr. Chen Xiaobo, Secretary of Company Party Committee made a concluding remark. He pointed out that the work of Labor Union should always focus on being political, being advanced and serving the masses. First, being political means uniting the mass employees around the CPC Central Committee centered around Xi Jinping. Labor Union should always be led by the Party, serve the overall interests, safeguard employees’ interests. Labor Union shall perform its responsibilities according to the established laws and procedures, and should work hard to address major issues confronting the Labor Union. Make sure the Labor Union keeps seeking new thoughts ideologically, making breakthrough theoretically, making new improvement in terms of measures and making bold attempts in terms of practices.

Second, being advanced and making contributions to build a harmonious and happy homeland. As a mass organization under direct leadership of the CPC, Labor Union shoulders the great responsibility for mobilizing the mass workers to make joint efforts in order to accomplish the Party’s central tasks. It’s the Labor Union that unites, most extensively, the mass employees to make contributions to the growth of the Company. We shall focus on positive energies, bring out employees’ passion to really make a difference and devote to building a harmonious and happy homeland. 

Third, serving the mass means safeguarding employees’ legitimate rights and interests and being a powerful and trustful backing of the employees. Work of the Labor Union constitutes a significant part of the Party’s mass work; serving the mass is what defines the Labor Union, and the mass line is the lifeline of Labor Union. Labor Union should maintain close ties with the mass and serve employees heart and soul, safeguard employees’ interests definitely and organize activities and events in order to build a harmonious labor relationship.
