Innovation Drives Development - The Company Held the 5th Innovation Day Award Ceremony


The fifth Innovation Day award ceremony was held in the conference room of the Exhibition Hall in the afternoon of April 5th. Company management Mr. Gu Yuefeng, Mr. Nouraddin A. Yousuf, Mr. Joost Emmen and Mr. Yang Hongbin attended the ceremony and presented trophies to winners. Company management expressed their expectations that employees bring more “golden ideas” to advance innovation and make active contribution to scientific development of FREP. Outcomes of the 5th Innovation Day activity fully demonstrated FREP’s ability and the achievements to innovate in key focus areas such as safety, reliability, optimization and improvement, cost reduction, market development and people management.

Mr. Gu Yuefeng, Chairman and President of PREP, first thanked all participants, winners and working team for their hard work. He pointed out that the 5th Innovation Day activity is a good way to focus on key focus areas of the Company and provides an excellent platform for offering advices and suggestions with regard to the Company’s continuous profit improvement campaign. Employees are actively engaged in discussions of effectiveness of management, reliability and increase of gross margin etc. Their willingness to input ideas and put those ideas into actions shows positive energy and manifests a healthy environment that FREP has created. He thanked all employees for their contribution. 

He stressed that in faced with severe market challenges, the management team and all employees of the Company must further enhance cross-functional cooperation and overcome difficulties shoulder to shoulder, keep making innovations and enhance management, thus to contribute to the scientific development of FREP.

He hopes that being innovative will not only need to “look up at the starlit sky” but also need to “stand on the solid ground”. Innovation requires to be down to earth and be based on the Company’s actual business situations before it can further enhance management and push forward continuous scientific development of the Company. He hoped to see more and better “golden ideas” coming in next year, to make innovation as a non-stop activity and to be passed down from generation to generation, turn the “golden ideas” into the concrete measures for promoting construction of a world-class petrochemical company with sustainable competitiveness and a beautiful FREP homeland.

Company management Mr. Gu Yuefeng, Mr. Nouraddin A. Yousuf, Mr. Joost Emmen and Mr. Yang Hongbn presented trophies and honor certificates to the representatives of winners of the first, second, third prize and execution award of the Edison Awards. Mr. Zhao Tianxing, General Manager of Process Dept., and Mr. Hussain Al Sughaiyer, General Manager of T&P Dept. presented honor certificates to the representatives of winners of Golden Wrench, Golden Gear, and Golden Pen awards.

Since the 5th Innovation Day event kicked off, employees have offered ideas, advices and suggestions focusing on five key focus areas and improvement of management and profitibility. Thanks to employees’ active participation, the working team of the event in total received 483 ideas, with total 10 winners of the first, second and third prize of Edison Awards, as well as winners of the execution award, gold wrench, golden gear and golden pen awards were named. The event has effectively encouraged employees to show their talents through competition of job skills, passion and contributions to the Company on the basis of possessing sound technical competency. In the meantime, the event also effectively promote the building of FREP to be a world-class petrochemical company with sustainable competitiveness. (by Xiao Wanyuan)
