Ministry of Public Security Organized Technical Training at FREP


The fire-fighting bureau under Ministry of Public Security opened a technical training class on response to incidents involving hazardous chemicals at FREP on March 18th. More than 150 backbones in operational training area from the fire departments of various provinces, municipalities and/ or autonomous regions attended the training.

Mr. Yang Guohong, head of Operational Training Section, Fire-fighting Bureau under Ministry of Public Security, Mr. Wang Wensheng, lead of the General Fire Brigade of Fujian Province, and Mr. Gu Yuefeng, FREP Chairman and President presented the opening ceremony which .

President Mr. Gu Yuefeng addressed the ceremony. He said that FREP has always put safety as the foundation for sustainable development while the company pursuing continuous growth, with strong sense of responsibility and stewardship, fire safety has been a top priority in production, operation, construction and development of the company. FREP continuously improve its ability to prevent and put out primary fire incidents by setting up a full-time professional fire-fighting group, thus laying a sound foundation for the Company to achieve safe production and continuously improve HSE performance.

The fact that the Fire-fighting Bureau under Ministry of Public Security chose to open the training class at FREP is an encouragement to FREP as well as an overall inspection to FREP’s full-time fire management work. FREP will take this as an opportunity to strengthen the full-time fire management and bring the Company’s HSE performance to a higher level.

Director Mr. Yang Guohong first thanked all the services and convenience that FPRE provided to the training class. He pointed out the significance of having this technical training on response to incidents involving hazardous chemicals and defined the present situations and tasks with regard to the training. He also gave a mobilization speech to all trainees. He expected that all trainees strictly follow rules and policies and treasure this opportunity to learn and apply their knowledge in their job. Make sure that both the trainees’ sense of fire safety and the management of fire safety get improved, thus to play an active role in responding to hazardous chemical incidents. 

It is learned that following the technical training on responding to incidents involving hazardous chemicals given at FREP in last year, this is the second time that Ministry of Public Security organized national special training. The training focused on petroleum and petrochemical production processes, response to incidents and measures, emergency response to a chemical poisoning incident, fast detection and judgement etc. The aim is to build a stronger emergency response team and further improve the ability in handling incidents involving hazardous chemicals through classroom teaching, on-site training, field lecturing and field practices.
