Zhang Yuming ,General Manager of Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Company Visited FREP for Investigation


During Nov 17-18, the general manager of Sinopec Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Company (ZRCC), Zhang Yuming made a special investigation trip to FREP in the company of Gu Yuefeng, Chairman and President of FREP and Liu Yanchang, Operation General Manager of FREP, Nouraddin A. Yousuf, vice president of the Company attended the symposium.

Mr. Zhang, accompanied by the corporate leaders including Mr. Gu Yuefeng, Mr. Liu Yanchang and others, visited the exhibition hall and CCR of the existing refinery, drove to the field to inspect the production plant and attended a symposium held by both parties.

President Gu Yuefeng, extended on behalf of FREP his warm welcome to ZRCC investigation team led by Mr. Zhang. He said they had long admired ZRCC. Over the years, ZRCC had been a model for petrochemical enterprises in China. ZRCC, through continuous reform and technology and management innovation, had developed rapidly and become the admirable pioneer in the domestic petrochemical industry. Since this year, FREP had been taking ZRCC as a model for benchmarking learning. Today, your visit also provided a valuable opportunity for our follow-up. At present, FREP is promoting shift of its operating mode as well as restructuring and upgrading of his quality and efficiency in performance. We hope the management level of both FREP and ZRCC will be enhanced through in-depth exchanges and advantageous complementation between the two sides. FREP is willing to work together with ZRCC to further promote our cooperation, go hand in hand, and contribute our shares to development of the national economy.

Mr. Zhang said, FREP is an integrated joint venture for refining and chemicals set up by Sinopec, Exxonmobil and SAAC. By introducing foreign shareholders’ advanced experience and ideas for business management, FREP has achieved greatly in safety, reliability and people management etc. as recognized by the insiders. He expected the companies will make common progresses through further exchanges and cooperation.

At the symposium, the two sides made extensive exchanges on issues such as optimization of production, system, procurement, product chains, plant and regions, human resources management, mechanical equipment, turnaround and revamp, contractor’s management, and enterprise management. The two parties also exchanged ideas and discussed the current difficulties encountered in enterprise management to identify the gap therein via comparison.

The exchange and learning further promoted the friendship between FREP and ZRCC as well as broadened the vision of the management personnel present in the exchange and emancipated their minds. On the basis of absorbing each other’s advanced management experience, they will combine with their own actual conditions to learn from each other, improve their competency in doing businesses, and gradually develop their own modes of management with specific characteristics so as to improve the overall level of operations.

Departmental leaders from ZRCC’s mechanical power office, people and education department, general affairs office, business management department and other departments and the Company’s Process Department, Technical & Planning Department, Mechanical Department, Human Resources & Administration Department and other departments participated in the investigation or symposium.
