On the afternoon of November 11, the speech contest themed "Growing together with the Company" was held. The Company management Liu Xiangdong, Zhao Tianxing, Saleh Yahya Al Zaid, Lin Xu, Yang Fei and Li Ji presented at the scene. Liu Xiangdong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Board Chairman of the Company, delivered a speech at the end of the contest. The Company management Zhao Tianxing and Saleh Yahya Al Zaid presented awards to the winners of the contest.

This year is the 15^th anniversary of FREP. The Company has made remarkable development achievements in the extraordinary development journey. These 15 years witnessed the hard work of all employees sharing their breath and destiny with the Company, practicing the corporate spirit of "teamwork and pursuit of excellence", with colorful and touching poems of struggle written.

Liu Xiangdong commented in his speech that although it has only been 15 years operation for FREP as a joint venture, the plant was built up on the original one of FPCL, i.e. a development history of more than 30 years. The corporate spirit of "unity and hard work, striving for first-class", established from the founding of the original plant, has led Fulian people to start up from "turning the history of Fujian Province not producing any product oil to an end", then the second phase development of building large-scale refining, ethylene and aromatics complex, then the great-leap-forward development of building the two refining and petrochemical integrated bases in Quangang and Gulei respectively, with new victories and achievements have been delivered continuously. FREP inherited the corporate spirit of FPCL, and cultivated its own corporate spirit of "teamwork and pursuit of excellence", its core value of "open and inclusive, integrity and responsible, safe and environmental protection, professional and devoted" in combination with the characteristics of the joint venture, with its development policy of "market oriented, profit focused, taking innovation as the mean, persist on following the best practices of HSE management and continuing to improve competitiveness" and its management concept of "delicacy and lean, regulatory and efficient, fair and just". This core value concept system of enterprise culture, as the guide for our work practice, has promoted the Company’s development in both scale and strength to a large-scale petrochemical enterprise integrating refining, ethylene and aromatics production, and striding toward the vision of "be a world-class petrochemical company with sustainable competitiveness". Standing at a new historical starting point and facing a new journey, we should carry forward the spirit/ tradition of petrochemical industry and practice the corporate spirit. With firm determination, resolution and attitude, we should restore confidence, take the leading position, rebuild the image, and work hard to write a new chapter of development of the refining and petrochemical integrated bases in Quangang and Gulei, and proactively make contributions to construction of a socialist modern country in all aspects.

In the speech contest, eight youth employees, taking the leading figures around them as examples, told the stories about the Company's development and the employee growth in various aspects and exhibited highlights of the employees sharing the breath and destiny with the Company.

With lively examples, vivid language and touching stories, the competitors made speeches with prominent themes, high spirit and sincere feelings. They expressed that as the youth working in petrochemical industry in the new era, they would inherit the spirit centering on "hard working" and "three honesty and four strictness" of petrochemical industry, strengthen the ideals and faiths, work hard on their posts to improve skills, and demonstrate the confidence and determination of the youth in the new journey of promoting high-quality development of the Company. Their good speeches won bursts of applause at the scene.

The judges gave a comprehensive score according to the theme performance, expression ability, effect on the scene and timing of the competitors' speeches. As evaluated, Lv Xingyue of Utilities Business Team won the first prize, Xie Chengxin of COOP won the second prize, and Hu Yuning of Olefin Business Team and Wang Ze of Fuels-1 Business Team won the third prizes.

In the course of the contest, there was also a quiz interaction session arranged for the audience. The intent was to publicize the spirit and tradition of petrochemical industry, and corporate spirit, the situation and history of the Company. (Zhang Lei, Ren Zixuan)
