On October 15, skill competition for lab technicians in 2015 was organized in product quality center. Deputy Party Secretary, Discipline Commission Secretary and Labor Union Chairman Yang Hongbin was present at the kick-off ceremony and delivered a speech. Management of Party Office, HR & Administration Department, Technical & Planning Department attended the kick-off ceremony and 80 contestants from product quality center participated in the competition.

Chairman Yang Hongbin said inspectors in product quality center are guardian of every drop of oil delivered into and out of the plant, as well as the eyes of front-line operators. The lab technician skill competition today is another important event following that respectively organized for instrument, welding, fitter and OTS. The competition helps to improve the job skills of inspectors and contributes to the company improvement of quality and efficiency.

At the kick-off ceremony, general manager of Technical & Planning Department Hussain made a mobilization speech, representatives of the judges and contestants delivered speeches as well.

It was reported that the competition covered test method of salt in crude, test method of iron in chemical products for industrial use, test method of COD, standard test method of benzene analysis, standard test method of tensile property of plastics, asphalt penetration test, test of the content of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate.

Lab technicians participated in the competition team by team. Each team performed analysis items for operational competition. Based on the aggregation of individual scores, the teams will receive first prize, second prize, third prize and consolation prize accordingly. Top one of each test item will go through another round of operational competition to win the first, second and third prizes.

This competition is not only a platform for contestants to demonstrate their value and become excellent at job, but also a training of high-skill talents for product quality inspection. (XiaoWanyuan)
