Wang Wensheng, Head Fire Officer of Fujian Provincial Fire Station, led a delegation to FREP for survey of fire safety work and held a seminar on the morning of June 8. FREP Chairman and President Gu Yuefeng and FREP Operation General Manager Liu Yanchang accompanied the delegation in the survey and seminar.

The delegation led by Wang Wensheng debriefed FREP about the overview of FREP fire safety at the seminar.

President Gu Yuefeng presented FREP efforts in tightening up management, emphasizing fire safety, ensuring intrinsic safety, etc. He said, FREP had been attaching great importance to fire safety all the time, continuously strengthened fire safety management and invested more in fire safety and constantly cemented fire troop building. Recently, the whole organization further enhanced safety management and hazard identification & elimination. We held special analysis meetings and identified key areas of work.

Gu Yuefeng expressed that FREP would take this inspection as an opportunity to continue to intensify hazard identification & elimination in strict accordance with the requirements of the authorities and fulfil the responsibilities and obligations of the Company. At the same time, he hoped the authorities would continue to render help, guidance and support to the Company in terms of safety management.

Chief Fire Officer Wang Wensheng highly appreciated FREP in drawing upon the sophisticated management concepts of both Chinese and foreign shareholders, reinforcing strict management, working hard on intrinsic safety and long-term safety and improving work safety fundamentally.He said, all levels of FREP paid high attention to safety, took prompt actions to identify and eliminate hazards and implemented safety measures effectively. Meanwhile, the enterprise and local governments supported and coordinated with each other, which offered guarantee to work safety.

Wang Wensheng stressed that the Company should spread the lessons learned from Zhangzhou Gulei Dragon Aromatics Fire Accident to FREP site, practically cement work safety and management of petroleum and petrochemical industry. We should build a sound work safety responsibility system with Party and government leaders as the core, establish a safety inspection mechanism with hazard identification and elimination as the key and a joint prevention and control mechanism for chemical and hazardous substance major disaster and accident. He required FREP Fire Brigade to work together with local firefighting team for joint prevention, joint service and joint fighting with the aim to identify and remove safety hazards and ensure intrinsic safety of the enterprise.He hoped to make FREP Fire Brigade a training base for Fujian petrochemical enterprises’ fire brigades and so make contributions to a new round of development of Fujian.

In FREP HSE Fire Brigade training field, the delegation led by Wang Wensheng visited and greeted all ranks of the Brigade. They paid the highest tributes to and extended heartfelt thanks to FREP for contributing to extinguishing the fire of Zhangzhou Gulei Dragon Aromatics. Wang Wensheng also asked about the work safety status of FREP in detail and inquired into the situation of management of professional firefighting team, education, service training, getting on-duty, fund guarantee, etc.
