“So our clothes have something to do with petroleum!” Such information was excitingly released by a pupil from Quangang No. 2 experimental primary school in WeChat during his visit in FPCL exhibition hall, together with some pictures of the visit.

On March 19^th, the Public Open Day sponsored by FREP received a group of special visitors, more than 200 pupils from Quangang No. 2 experimental primary school. With quite a few parents working in petrochemical companies, they are little residents living around petrochemical enterprises, very curious of production safety and environmental protection in petrochemical companies.

Considering the large number of pupils for this Public Open Day, the visitors were divided into two groups for cross visits. It was the first time for many of them to enter the premise of FREP opening their eyes to the model of process units, a wide variety of petrochemical products and interesting petrochemical knowledge as well as the special promotion video. One student in grade four told the reporter that he saw sulfur, asphalt, PE, PP and a lot of other petrochemical products in FREP today, and he also understood how important petroleum and petrochemical companies are since a lot of them are in close relations with our daily life.

“It is my first to come into FREP and I feel that the company is extremely modernized.” said teacher Lin who accompanied the visit, “FREP exhibition hall integrates petrochemical technology with our daily life. Not only have the children, but I also learned a lot, especially the concept of delicacy management.”

“Petroleum goes hand in hand with our life! We need to cherish petroleum and well protect the earth!” after the visit to FREP exhibition hall and process units, the students understood the role of petroleum in all aspects of our daily life, acquired knowledge of oil exploitation and refining, enhanced understanding of petroleum and petrochemical industry and got touched by the green environmental protection and amazing technology in petrochemical enterprises.

It was reported that FREP organizes Plant Open Day activities every year, inviting employees’ family, community residents and students to visit the plant models/field site/central control room, get basic knowledge of petrochemical production/safety/environmental protection, experience in person the green low carbon development, understand the popular petrochemical science and intensify conceptual knowledge of petrochemical industry.
