On March 30^th, 2015, happiness of eighth anniversary of FREP establishment was doubled by good news from QG Industrial Park in the afternoon of one-time successful start-up of FREP 180kta/400kta EO/EG unit with premium EG product produced to fill in the gap of Fujian market.

Company Chairman and President Gu Yuefeng and Vice President Parut Chatikavanij took demand in the field site, management of Process Department/Technical and Planning Department/Mechanical Department/Supply and Distribution Department coordinated on the scene, all members of EO/EG BT worked together with start-up experts and technical professionals from service providers sparing no efforts in the tough fight for start-up with a tight schedule.

On 14:30 in the afternoon, EO/EG BTM Xu Songchen solemnly pressed the start-up button to supply the unit with ethylene feedstock, successfully inject oxygen at 17:00 and produce on-spec EG product 21 hours later.

FREP EO/EG unit is an accessory unit to consume the incremental SC capacity after the expansion revamp. SEI is responsible for feasibility study, general design, basic engineering design and EPC. SINOPEC No.10 Construction Company undertakes the construction and installation of main units. The unit construction was started on August 28^th, 2013, handed over on January 11^th, 2015 and successfully started up on March 30^th, 2015.

This unit adopts the licensed technology of SD Company with advanced and reliable process technology, high safety performance and leading KPIs in China such as energy consumption and material consumption. During the construction of unit, overseas technical experts, Chinese technical professionals, construction companies, supervision companies and FREP employees made joint efforts and attached great attention to quality, safety and schedule seeking increasing perfection with adequate project management.

After start-up, the unit can produce 180kta EO and 400kta EG which fundamentally changes the history of Fujian without production of EO/EG products.

FREP EO/EG unit is of great significance to intensify ethylene product chain, give full play to the collaborative advantage of refining and chemical integration, contribute to the construction of SINOPEC as a leading energy chemical company in the world and promotes the development of local economy.
