On the afternoon of September 4, the production safety inspection team from Sinopec Group delivered a presentation on their findings at FREP during the safety inspection, presided by Mr. Xiang Hanyin, the inspection team lead and Sinopec HSE inspection commissioner, with attendance of FREP Chairman and President Lu Dong and Operation General Manager Liu Yanchang. The inspection team fed back what they have found in the inspection tour and proposed some suggestions, at presence of relevant department management.                                    

The team conducted a production safety inspection at FREP from Sep. 1 to Sep. 4, covering production operation, HSE, project construction and other aspects.

Mr. Xiang Hanyin highlighted three main features of FREP production safety activities: firstly, grand check of production safety was carried out rapidly with great importance attached by the leaders; secondly, tight management was reinforced with overall planning; thirdly, accountability was strengthened to achieve safety in production. He requested FREP to take it serious and rectify the specific issues identified from front-line check to realize closed-loop management, eliminate all safety hazards and ensure safety in production. Meanwhile, FREP was also required to stick to high standards and rigorous requirements, and continue to well manage safety in production with further improvement.

In his response, Lu Dong said the Sinopec production safety inspection is not only an embodiment of the care, support and help of Sinopec to FREP, but also an important means to elevate the level of safety management. FREP is committed to paying higher attention to solve the problems and assign responsibilities to specific units or posts, with a clear mindset that safety management could never end, never be too good and no effort could be spared. No one is allowed to neglect the importance of safe production, but to handle trivial problems at budding stage and keep alert all the time. Safety management is about details. Problem rectification should be reinforced, safety foundation should be consolidated, and rigorous management should be adopted in order to enhance delicate management of safe operation with a solid foundation. The identified issues should be carefully cleaned up and rectified, and inferences should be drawn to ensure the right execution is in place.

Lu Dong instructed all functions to continue with safety hazard identification and elimination to improve safety management performance. The projects to handle safety hazards should be expedited to fundamentally eliminate safety hazards with clear accountability to avoid occurrence of any issues. All functions were required to leverage the campaign of strict management year deployed by Sinopec and management and profit improvement year initiated by FREP, detail production safety initiatives, enforce safe production accountability, well manage business priorities in the rest of the year, focus on rigorous management/hazard handling/safety supervision and inspection, reinforce key stewardship on plant operation/equipment running/project construction/contractor management so as to ensure stable operation of the company in a safe manner.
