Mohammed Y Al Qahtani, Saudi Aramco Downstream President, Visited the Company
On September 6, Mohammed Y Al Qahtani, Saudi Aramco Downstream President, led a delegation including Saleh Zaid, Aramco Asia President, and Nader A. Al-Arfaj, China Country Manager of Aramco Asia, to visit FREP.
Lin Xu and other OOP members, including Suchart Phowatthanasathian, Li Ji, and Haytham Zamzami, met with the visiting delegation.
During the talks, Acting President Lin Xu first extended a welcome to Mohammed Y Al Qahtani and his delegation, briefing them on the Company's safety production, operational management, and future development plans. He noted that amid this year's complex and challenging external environment, FREP has taken proactive measures, achieving remarkable results in margin improvement and cost reduction, with its comprehensive energy consumption reaching a historic low. Notably, the aromatics, oil refining, and ethylene businesses have performed exceptionally well, a success attributed to the outcomes of the TA/revamp in 2024. Both sides also engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as revamping and replacing oldunits, addressing market challenges, extending the industrial chain, and unleashing oil refining capacity.
Lin Xu expressed gratitude to Saudi Aramco for dispatching experts to provide support in areas such as safety, reliability, and future planning. He looked forward to continued collaboration and assistance from all shareholders, emphasizing that the Company will steadily advance toward its vision of "becoming a world-class petrochemical Company with sustainable competitiveness" with the support of its shareholders.
Mohammed Y Al Qahtani expressed his delight in visiting FREP over the weekend, conducting an inspection and engaging in discussions with OOP and management personnel. He acknowledged FREP's achievements in safety, reliability, and margin improvement amid challenging market conditions, while also commending and thanking the Company for the successful completion of its TA/revamp in 2024. He noted that FREP has actively demonstrated a spirit of collaboration by fully supporting the training of employees from Zhejiang Petroleum & Chemical Co., Ltd. and Huajin Aramco Petrochemical Company Limited, for which he expressed profound gratitude.
Mohammed Y Al Qahtani emphasized that FREP is Saudi Aramco’s first joint venture project in China, and all shareholders are highly attentive to its medium- and long-term development plans. They will support the Company in optimizing operations and planning to deliver stronger performance, thereby rewarding shareholders and consolidating the excellent cooperative relationship among them.
Mohammed Y Al Qahtani and his delegation also toured FREP's exhibition hall and production units with great interest. (Xiao Wanyuan)
