Warm congratulations to employees Li Shiying and Qian Cheng of the Company for their outstanding performance in the finals of the first National “Red Flag Cup” Shift Team Lead Competition held by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. They stood out from contestants from chemical enterprises across the country and won the eighth and ninth place respectively!

On August 21, the highly anticipated finals of the first National “Red Flag Cup” Shift Team Lead Competition closed in Changchun City, Jilin Province. Eight outstanding shift team leads from Sinopec ranked among the top ten in the chemical industry.

This competition was organized by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the People's Government of Jilin Province. With the theme of “cultivating outstanding shiftteam leads and jointlybuilding the dream of becoming a manufacturing power", it is divided into three stages: preliminary, semi-final and final. It involved 10 industries including railways, construction, electricity, chemicals, machinery, steel, non-ferrous metals, building materials, national defense science and technology and light industries. It was committed to promoting learning and training through competitions, stimulating the enthusiasm and creative potential of front-line shift teams, and building a contingent of shiftteam leads with high quality, superb skills and sound management skills.

Since the competition started in May, a total of 50,230 employees from 3,108 companies in 30 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) have registered for the chemical industry competition. Among them, more than 7,000 employees from Sinopec participated in the competition, and its preliminary participation rate and completion rate ranked among the top players among central enterprises. After fierce competition in the preliminary and semi-finals, 19 shiftteam leads from 11 companies including Sinopec (Tianjin) Petrochemical Co., Ltd., Sinopec Ningbo Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Company Limited, and SINOPEC Jinling Petrochemical Corporation finally entered the finals on behalf of Sinopec, competing with shift team leads from multiple large refining and chemical companies such as PetroChina, China Energy, and Sinochem.

The finals of the competition lasted for 2 days and the examination venue was set up at Changchun Automobile Industry University. It included 3 parts: theoretical examination, digital twin basic ability competition, and player battle, and was conducted in the form of an offline centralized computer-based test. The shiftteam leads who have emerged from rounds of competition will gather on the stage of the finals to compete in technical level, general knowledge, problem-solving ability and overall strength.

Li Shiying, a contestant from FREP, is the only female shiftteam lead among the finalists from Sinopec. She said that the competition provided a stage for outstanding shift team leads from all industries across the country to showcase their talents. This competition was not only a test of technical capabilities, but also a rare opportunity for communication and learning. Through the competition, she has gained a deeper understanding of how to carry out innovations and develop new quality productive forces, which has provided great inspiration and help for her future work.

TheLabor Union Working Committee of Sinopec attached great importance to this competition by unified coordination and organization and active mobilization and arrangements. During the preliminary stage, it guided and encouraged relevant organizations to organize qualified employees to sign up for the competition and persist in completing online learning and theoretical examinations. During the semi-final and finals stages, a team of coaches with rich experience was selected to actively carry out pre-competition mobilization and post-competition review to inspire fighting spirit, boost morale, and encourage contestants to compete in the best condition, providing a solid guarantee for achieving excellent results.
