OIMS External Assessment of the Company
On September 18, the Company held a kick-off meeting for OIMS external assessment. Company management Saleh Yahya Al Zaid, Lin Xu and Suchart Phowatthanasathian attended the meeting. Members of the experts team of OIMS external assessment, responsible people of relevant departments and specialists of the Company attended the meeting.
President Saleh Yahya Al Zaid welcomed the expertsteamof OIMS external assessment on behalf of theCompany. He commented that OIMS was the core of the Company's safety management. The Company has always attached great importance to system building. By formulating effective measures and continuously strengthening system thinking, the Company has significantly improved system effectiveness. However, there were still great opportunities in system operation and improvement. This external assessment was a good measure and effective way to help the Company further identifies gaps and promotes system building.
Saleh Yahya Al Zaid emphasized that all departments and BTs of the Company should fully understand the importance of the external assessment, and all the owners, administrators, employees and contractors should provide accurate and complete information in a timely manner, to create favorable conditions for the external assessment.
Lai Man Wai, lead of the OIMS External Assessment Team from ExxonMobil Singapore, thanked FREP for the great support to this external assessment. He commented that the external assessment aimed to have an overall examination on the OIMS of FREP, to identify improvement opportunities and help FREP further improve system effectiveness. He commented that the experts team would strengthen communication and close collaborate with relevant departments and BTs of the Company, to ensure the successful completion of this external assessment task.
At the meeting, the experts in OIMS external assessment team introduced the objectives, scope, assessment process and schedule of the external assessment. This OIMS external assessment would last for nearly two weeks. The assessment team would be divided into five groups for field interviews, field verification and documents review, to comprehensively verify the compliance and effectiveness of OIMS elements.
On September 26, the closing meeting for the Company's OIMS external assessment was held in the Science & Technology Hall in the plant.

Lai Man Wai, lead of the OIMS External Assessment Team, fully affirmed the Company's achievements in system building. He emphasized that efficient operation of OIMS and its better serving to production/ operation could be realized only when the essential requirements of OIMS were fully understood by the whole organization, and the principles of OIMS were applied throughout work. It also required timely analysis and summary, efforts for identifying gaps/ opportunities and promoting implementation of measures.
Saleh Yahya Al Zaid commented that this external assessment has delivered the desired results with the efforts of the External Assessment Team. The External Assessment Report was of high quality and high standard, which clearly identified the gaps of system operation, and provided valuable recommendations for next step improvement.
At the meeting, the assessor of each OIMS element presented the external assessment results respectively. Taking into account the field inspection results, they fully affirmed the Company's achievements in system building and operation in recent years. In addition, they analyzed in detail the existing gaps of system operation.
This External Assessment scored the operation effectiveness of each OIMS element and the overall operation of the Company’s OIMS, which was shared at the meeting. (Zhang Lei)
