On May 15, the Company launched a Party lecture and special learning on the theme of learning and implementing general secretary Xi Jinping’s socialist thought with Chinese characteristics in the new era.

Zhang Xiguo, secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company, took the lead in delivering a special Party lecture entitled "Always Be a Firm Believer and Loyal Practitioner of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and Gather Strength to Accelerate Construction of a Leading Refining and Chemical Integrated Enterprise in China". Professor Niu Jun, Vice Principle of the Party School of Xiamen Municipal Party Committee, was invited for a special lecture entitled "Continuously Write a New Chapter of Adapting Marxism to the Chinese Context and the Needs of Our Times" for the Party members and cadres.

Qin Zhanfei, a member of the 13^th Rounds Guidance Group of Sinopec Group, attended via teleconference. The Company management, middle-level and primary level management personnel, Party branch secretaries, departmental management of the joint ventures, major Party and governance leaders of restructured units and leaders of the democratic parties also attended the lecture.

Zhang Xiguo expounded the great significance of learning and understanding general secretary Xi Jinping’s thought of Socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era in the Party lecture, called on all Party members and cadres to establish a strong political, ideological and action consciousness, systematically master the scientific system of general secretary Xi Jinping’s thought of Socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and arm their minds with the innovative theory of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times.

Zhang Xiguo emphasized that first was to arm our minds with the innovative theory of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times. We should systematically master the scientific systems that are interconnected, systematically grasp the positions, viewpoints and methods that run through them, deeply understand the charm of feelings and beliefs contained therein, systematically grasp general secretary Xi Jinping’s strategic deployment for the development and construction of state-owned enterprises, and effectively use the unique resources to ensure in-depth understanding and good verification. Adhere to comprehensive and systematic learning, timely learning, in-depth thinking, practicing when learning, and learning with affections, so as to lay a solid foundation for the following research, communication, discussion and practice.

Second was to transform learning achievements into a powerful force that promotes the all-round and high-quality development of the Company. We must firmly adhere to forging the soul through learning, lay a solid foundation of ideals and beliefs, promote the spirit of "efficiency" and "dedication", read the original works, learn the original texts and understand the principles. We must firmly adhere to rectifying working style and strictly fulfilling responsibilities through learning, and implement all tasks in a down-to-earth and effective manner. We must firmly adhere to promoting work and implementing our responsibilities through learning, regard learning and research as a "racetrack" to test learning effectiveness, and contribute to the Company's new round of development and performance improvement.

Third was to define the theme education as a vivid practice of firmly supporting the "Two Establishment". We should deeply learn and implement general secretary Xi Jinping’s ecological civilization thought and his important exposition on production safety, and continuously improve the level of intrinsic safety and environmental protection. Strictly implement the production safety responsibility of all employees, further advance system management, stick to the targets of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, and play the "theme melody" of green development.

Fourth was to accelerate the construction of Gulei Phase II Project, so as to lay a solid hardware foundation for building a petrochemical giant with assets and revenue exceeding 100 billion RMB, and maximize the overall benefits of the two petrochemical bases, Quangang and Gulei, by promoting the collaborative optimization of the four production-oriented joint ventures.

Fifth was to continuously further the annual actions of improving quality and profitability, and spare no efforts to achieve all annual business targets. Always adhere to market orientation, adhere to aligning with the market in daily production and operation, firmly establish the concept of "optimization creates profit, and in-depth optimization creates greater profit", continuously reduce operating expenses, and create low-cost competitiveness.

Sixth was to continuously strengthen construction of enterprise management and professional functional management capabilities, laying a solid management foundation for the sustainable development of the Company. Further construction of investment platforms and the functions of "supervision, coordination and service", continuously improve scientific decision-making ability and up-to-standard operation level, improve organizational energy efficiency and institutional execution, and create a model of joint venture cooperation.

Zhao Tianxing, General Manager and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Company, chaired the meeting and put forward requirements for strengthening theoretical learning in detail.

Zhao Tianxing required all Party members and cadres to further promote the good learning style of integrating theory with practice, learn with questions, closely combine with the actual issues of the Company in reform and development, production and operation, and effectively strengthen learning and thinking to prevent separated learning and practice. We shall strengthen discussion and exchange, through communication, interaction and discussion, truly understand and analyze the existing issues, and then propose practical solutions and measures to solve issues and improve the work.

Professor Niu Jun interpreted general secretary Xi Jinping’s thought on Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era from three aspects: the era background and realistic conditions, scientific system and core meaning, mission and practical requirements of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and the needs of our times, interpreted general secretary Xi Jinping’s thought of Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era in simple terms in combination with the spirit of general secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions, as well as the interpretation and case sharing in the report of the 20^th CPC National Congress, and further consolidated the theoretical foundation and pointing out the direction for all the Party members and cadres to "learn the thought, strengthen the Party spirit, focus on practice, and create new achievements".

In the next stage, the Company's Party Committee will further promote centralized learning and research, teaching on the tradition of revolution, management personnel giving lectures, coaching by experts, and investigation and research, adhere to guiding and driving learning of all cadres and employees through the Party's innovative theoretical education, strengthen transformation of learning and application to promote work through learning, so as to promote comprehensive and high-quality development of the Company.
