Moved, enlightened, inspired... They are the people around us. They all have touching stories. They inherit petroleum spirit people and carry forward petrochemical tradition with their behaviors and hearts.
On the afternoon of December 10, with the theme of "Dialogue between Waves Behind and Ahead - Grow Together with the Company", an education forum on inheriting petroleum spirit and promoting petrochemical tradition was held in the conference hall on the third floor of Fulian building in Quanzhou. This was an entirely new type sharing meeting. The speakers came from different departments of FPCL and FREP, including retired employees, model workers and outstanding youth employees. They were outstanding representatives of the three generations of the company. They vividly described devotion, persistence, innovation and responsibility of people working in petrochemical industry, and profoundly expounded their understanding and experience of inheriting petroleum spirit and carrying forward petrochemical tradition with their own experience.
Company management Gu Yuefeng, Liu Xiangdong and Lai Shuiming attended the meeting. More than 100 attendees, including the responsible people of each department of the company and the employee representatives, listened to their stories.
"In October 1988, the first batch of 147 management and technical backbones from Daqing, Lanzhou and Jingmen petrochemical plants gave up their superior working and living environment of the old plants and traveled thousands of miles to Huian to prepare for the construction of Fujian Refinery." Gan Songmao, former deputy director of FPCL office, former director of the property center and secretary of the Party branch, said with emotion.
During the three years of arduous engineering construction, tens of thousands of refinery construction workers lived in the temporary sheds leaking rain and wind. They carried forward hard working spirit of "going ahead when conditions are available; when they are not available, then create them and go ahead", and achieved the target of successful one-time start up on September 1992 and September 1993 respectively. From then on, Fujian Province bid farewell to the history of "zero oil production".
Zhang Ping is a senior technician, Sinopec model worker, fitter module coordinator in Mechanical Department, and rotating equipment team lead in Model Worker Zhang Zhaohong Innovation Studio. He believed that being a qualified fitter required a process from quantitative change to qualitative change. He still remembered that his master often told him when he just started his career: to be a fitter, one should have great proficiency and real capability.
Zhang Ping was enthusiastic to do everything well. From then on, he developed the habit of analyzing and never letting go of any tough issues. He not only studied fitter knowledge, but also was interested in learning knowledge related to work, such as electrical, instrument, production technologies, mechanical manufacturing. Through learning and using these knowledge, when Zhang Ping was the lead of FCC team, maintenance workload in the areas of his team was greatly reduced, and most equipment operation cycles were extended. At that time, he dared to say with pride: "I am a qualified fitter."
In maintenance of flue gas expander, repair of the main shaft gas seal always took a lot of time, and the workload was high. Due to eccentricity of both the flue gas outlet and bearing box, the adjustment required repeated measurement, calculation, disassembly, scraping and grinding. The roundness of the repaired gas seal deviated, and the clearance along the shaft circumference was not uniform. After repeated tests and verification, Zhang Ping finally found a way to skip eccentricity calculation. In the measurement of the concentric circle, he directly added the clearance value and scraped the concentric circle, and the gas seal was not disassembled repeatedly, which saved a lot of time and improved the precision of scraping and grinding.
"It's better to have a superior one than ninety-nine not-bad. We should rely on technique, improve efficiency by innovation, and pursuit high value." This is what Zhang Ping understood as "petroleum spirit and petrochemical tradition".
"People grow only after been defeated and experienced failure." Feng Zhe, a young technician in Product Quality Center, who won the title “national youth post expert”, had in-depth understanding through her own growth. At the end of October 2016, Feng Zhe and two colleagues participated in the national laboratory worker skills competition on behalf of the company. For the short notice, they did not make full preparation, but they still greatly broadened their horizons and truly realized that there were no limit in skills and no end for learning. After coming back, they worked harder to prepare for the provincial competition and did not relax for a moment. In the end, they won the first place in the group competition, the first, the third and the sixth in the individual competition respectively.
"Now looking back, I believe everyone must have the courage to brave difficulties and setbacks. You may be hurt and bleed. Only in this way can we grow up. You never know how much potential you have without forcing yourself. " Feng Zhe said with emotion.
With simple language, sincere feelings and vivid examples, the three representatives told the touching stories of three generations in the aspects of retired employees, model workers and youth employees, who never forgot their original aspiration, keep their mission firmly in mind, devoted themselves to work, undertook their responsibilities, made contributions to their duties, served the country in petrochemical industry, and worked hard to forge ahead. They carried forward outstanding spirits in their ordinary posts, and each touching story represented a generation of petroleum people. They embodied petroleum spirit and petrochemical tradition in every meticulous and rigorous work, concentrated them in every precise operation, and bore fruits in every technological innovation. Their stories won the applause of the audience.
Liu Zongyan, who just joined Olefin Business Team this year, said with emotion: "Their stories demonstrated the selflessness and devotion, innovation and sense of responsibility of FREP people. As a second generation of FPCL employees, I fully understood the “Fulian” spirit. I will learn from them and make contributions on my post in future. "
Huang Xiaobin, a model worker of Fujian Province, said that the development of the company was the result of selfless devotion and continuous efforts of generations of “Fulian” people. As a model worker, I should enhance the awareness of innovation continuously, fully play the leading role of model worker, do a good job in demonstration and spiritual inheritance, and contribute to the safe and stable operation of the company.
The forum of "Dialogue Between Waves Behind and Ahead - Grow Together with the Company" was not only a part of the theme education "my company and I", but also an important measure to inherit petroleum spirit, carry forward petrochemical tradition, concentrate force of hard work, promote the high-quality development of the company in the new era, strive for a new round of construction and development, especially the triple victories of pandemic prevention and control, production and operation and project construction in this year.
