The Company Held Employee Communication Meeting of 4Q 2020


On November 25 and 26, the employee communication meeting of 4Q 2020 was held in Quanzhou and Quangang in the form of video conference, summarized the work of the first three quarters, analyzed the current situation and deployed the key tasks of the fourth quarter. The meeting mobilized all employees to unite as one, work hard continuously, and spare no effort to overcome difficulties, so as to ensure the successful completion of the annual targets and tasks.

The meeting stressed that under the current severe situation, there was only around one month for us to complete the annual tasks and targets. With tight time and heavy tasks, the difficulties and challenges were enormous. Whether we could overcome difficulties, make breakthroughs and achieve the annual targets would depend on this one more month. The more severe the situation was and the more pressing time was, the more firmly we must adhere to the development targets. Only when we have a clear understanding of the situation, enhance our confidence, encourage our morale, concentrate our energy, seize the day and night with a sense of urgency and responsibility, take more active actions, make more arduous efforts, stick to the targets, work hard, and complete all work in a down-to-earth manner, could we ensure the completion of the tasks of the whole year.

Company management Gu Yuefeng, Joost Emmen, Nouraddin A. Yousuf, Lin Xu and Zhao Tianxing attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Nouraddin A. Yousuf, Vice President of the company.

Gu Yuefeng, Chairman of the Board and the Secretary of the Party Committee of the company, delivered a speech. First of all, he affirmed that the two youth employees sharing their work practice and experience at the meeting. He commented that since this year, under the continuous pressure of pandemic prevention/ control and production/ operation, led by the Party Committee and OOP of the company, all employees had made concerted efforts to overcome difficulties, and carried forward work comprehensively, realized an improving trend of production and operation performance.

Gu Yuefeng commented that the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee reviewed and approved the "14th Five-Year Plan" and the Long-range Objectives through the Year 2035. In the face of the unprecedented changes in a century of the world, how would FREP develop by 2035? It was worth thinking about. We should not just wait for opportunities, but must change our concepts, undertake more tasks, handle the current situation from a comprehensive, dialectical and long-term perspective, strive to cultivate new opportunities in crisis, start a new situation in the changing situation, look forward to the macro trend and industry trend, and plan the future development of FREP. At the same time, we should pay more attention to value guidance, strengthen profitability, increase the shareholders’ investment return, and further enhance investment confidence of shareholders.

Gu Yuefeng stressed that there were only 36 days left this year, it was very difficult and urgent to complete the annual targets and tasks, and time was pressing. All departments and business teams should strengthen the spirit of fighting the pandemic, working hard on production and seeking development, the management personnel should make more efforts on management, and the employees should fulfill job responsibilities and carry forward the “screw spirit” to promote the efficient operation and high-quality development of the company. We should further improve working styles and methods, establish clear responsibility and accountability, strengthen the competition mechanism, pay close attention to poor indicators and vulnerabilities of production/ operation, firmly keep the bottom line of production safety, and strive to successfully complete the annual targets and tasks.

Company President Joost Emmen made a work report. In his report, he summarized the business performance and key focus areas from January to October 2020, shared the progress of SPIES and “stop to think” activity.

According to Joost Emmen's requirements, the next step main tasks were the “continuous challenges” activity and the profitability promotion actions, with main focus on the key tasks such as health, safety, environmental protection, reliability, cost and profit. Make more efforts to ensure effective implementation, so as to achieve safe and reliable operation, turn losses into profits in 2020, and ensure the smooth realization of the commitments to BOD.

Vice President Nouraddin A. Yousuf put forward requirements on implementing the meeting spirit, Vice President Lin Xu made a special report on Braving Continuous Challenges and Turning Losses into Profits, and Vice President Zhao Tianxing made a special report on Safety and Reliability.

At the meeting, Wu Wenya, an employee of Fuels-2 Business Team, and Li Shijie, an employee of Olefin Business Team, shared their practice and experience of "changes of safety behavior " and "stop and think".

The company management and the responsible people of relevant departments answered the questions about the challenges faced by the company, the master plan of the company, employee on-post training and career development, salary and benefits, labor competition and other topics of concern to the employees.
