The Company Held a Review Meeting of FREP Leadership Improvement Project
On November 19, the company organized and held a review and sharing meeting titled "I'll take the first step, we'll collaborate and win together" on the one-year practice of the leadership improvement project. President Joost Emmen and vice president Nouraddin A. Yousuf attended the meeting.
In his mobilization speech, Joost Emmen commented that strong leadership was required in the process of building the company into a world-class petrochemical company with sustainable competitiveness. During the training and practice of the leadership improvement project in the past year, the trainees converted knowledge into actual behaviors, practices leadership in daily work and further improved management leadership in following three aspects: solution-oriented behaviors, cross- functional collaboration and empower employees’ growth; leadership was about results, behavior and motivation, and we should set clear targets, drive high standards and high quality behaviors in every work, give timely and appropriate feedback, motivate employees to complete their work efficiently and move forward to the established targets of the organization.
Joost Emmen stressed that the success of work did not rely on the leader, but on the team he/ she led. Excellent management should make employees succeed, develop and become stronger and outstanding. The company had an excellent workforce playing the enterprise spirit of "teamwork and pursuit of excellence", and contributed to building a world-class petrochemical company with sustainable competitiveness.
Nouraddin A. Yousuf reviewed the training, improvement and practice of the leadership project. He said that the leadership review meeting held today selected 14 outstanding representatives to report, which was to report and verify the practice and result of the past more than one year, and it was also an opportunity to learn and share with each other. He expected people to actively use the methods, means and tools of leadership review, hold an “empty cup” mindset, put down and open up oneself, find issues, analyze root causes, and improve oneself in a solid manner. He hoped that all would make full use of SPIES model to further improve safety leadership.
14 representatives from different departments and Business Teams reported their learning, experience, practice and harvest of the leadership project in the past more than one year, focusing on effective employee empowerment and motivation, issue analysis and solution by using workout method, consistent communication and cooperation targets, and guiding cross-functional cooperation according to the situation.
After reporting and sharing, the judges scored and commented. At the end, Olefin Business Team manager Wang Jun won the first prize, Pan Qiwen and Zheng Xiaodan won the second prizes, Chen Changxing, Yang Kunsong and He Zhiqiang won the third prizes, and Liang Wenbing, Huang Shengpeng, Li Zhibin, Zhuang Weibin, Lu Jun, Liu Yanling, Zheng Yuwei and Liu Danrong won the excellence awards.
The annual review and report meeting 2020 was hosted by HR & Admin Department, with the participation of the company's supervisors and above. Through learning and mastering knowledge, tools and methods of review, the trainees conducted a soul touching self-analysis on their organizational performance, team targets, code of conduct and action plan in the past year or more, and found out root causes of the issues through the analysis of actual cases, and sorted out the action plans and orientations in the future. The 14 representatives sharing their reports were excellent cases and report representatives carefully selected by all departments and Business Teams from the 200 cases for review. (Xiao Wanyuan)
