Lantern Festival is one of the most important traditional festivals in China. It falls on the 15^th day of the first month of the lunar calendar on which people eat Yuanxiao, a kind of sweet round dumpling, as a tradition to celebrate the happy reunion of the family. On the evening of February 10^th, FREP organized the Yuanxiao making competition at the Quanzhou office building of FREP to celebrate the upcoming Lantern Festival. A total of 40 teams attended the event, representing companies like FPCL, FREP, LFG, Fuyuan and Ruisheng, etc. Company management Mr. Gu Yuefeng, Mr. Nouraddin A. Yousuf and Mr. Yang Hongbin watched the competition and presented awards to the winners.

It was a bustling night full of joy and excitement, with the contestants busy with making doughy and stuffing.

Besides yuan xiao, they also made jiao zi (traditional dumpling), salad and other dishes, trying to show all the skills of cooking while glowing with delightfulness. Even some kids joined the activities. The whole picture gave rise to a strong sense of harmony, love and happiness. The sweet dumpling yuan xiao, as a symbol of reunion and happiness, delivered the message of happiness of the new year to everyone on the scene.

In no more than one hour, the dishes of various shape, color and taste were put on the table. The cold dish combinations, especially, received a lot of high praise for its eye-catching and vivid shapes. Accompanied by the fragrance of foods and the laughter and cheers of people, everyone enjoyed a good time.

Scoring based on color, aroma, taste, shape, meaning and nutrition. The dishes were rated by professional culinary judges. FREP Human Resources & Administration Department Team and Supply & Distribution Team won the first prizes, FREP Fuels-2 Business Team, FPCL Discipline Inspection Department Team, FPCL Operation Management Department Team and LFG Team won the second prizes, FREP Mechanical Department Comprehensive Maintenance Team, FPCL Comprehensive Department Team, FPCL Environment & Safety Department Team, FPCL Retirement Management Center, Fuyuan Company and Ruisheng Company won the third prizes.
