While Quanzhou is experiencing the scorching weather of the summer, FREP’s employees are still fighting at the front line as usual for achieving this year’s targets, regardless of challenges and heat facing them.

On the afternoon of July 27^th, the staff of Party and Union Office, led by FREP leaders Gu Yuefeng, Chen Xiaobo, Yang Hongbin and Liu Yanchang, paid a visit to the production sites of Fuels-1, Fuels-2, Aromatics, Olefin, Polyolefin, EO/EG, Utilities, Offsites and Terminals as well as HSE Dept. Firefighting team, Mechanical Dept. and Technical & Planning Dept. They brought heatstroke prevention articles to workers at these places to help them work safely under high temperature, and also expressed high respect to them.

A group led by Gu Yuefeng, FREP chairman and President, Yang Hongbin, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission and Chairman of Trade Union visited the CCR of old plant, where they sent heatstroke prevention articles to front-line workers, and thanked them for their hard work for quality and efficiency improvement and scientific development. They also had talks with the employees of Fuels-2 and Aromatics BTs and asked about how the production is going on around there. Mr. Gu said, amid severe situation of oil product market, companies are forced to reduce processing capacity, lower unit load or even shut down a part of units, in order to win a competitive edge. The market competition is rather fierce. Therefore, we have to be alert to market fluctuation and follow the market trend while striving to maintain production safety at plants. In addition, the two leaders also carefully asked about the working and living conditions of the employees, and reminded them for keeping health by means of heatstroke prevention. They also pointed out that more efforts must be made in maintaining a good working environment for employees.

The Secretary of Party Committee Chen Xiaobo and the Operation General Manager Liu Yanchang visited the CCR of EO/EG to congratulate the EO/EG group for having successfully produced ethylene oxide (EO) up to top grade of national standard. Mr. Chen said, with EO Unit being put into operation, FREP will be capable of producing 180,000 tons of ethylene oxide and 400,000 tons of ethylene glycol every year, which will make the EO/EG Unit the largest of the kind in China. It will be of great significance for optimizing product structure and increasing the profitability of olefin-line products, while at the same time meeting the EO demand of fine chemical companies at Fujian to promote the local allocation of resources. Meanwhile, he encouraged the employees to carry out the spirit of hardworking, fighting and dedication in order to maintain production safety and make contribution to the improvement of quality and efficiency.

Chen and Liu also carefully asked about the working condition and physical condition of front-line workers, and suggested them to make self-adjustment against heatstroke without affecting work quality and schedule. On the other hand, Chen told the relevant person in charge to properly adopt heatstroke prevention measures and arrange work in a practical and reasonable manner so as to front-line workers work safely and properly during hot days.

At every stop, the leaders shook hands with employees to show their concern about them, and expressed gratitude to them for keeping to their posts hardworking when the day is so hot. Meanwhile, they told the employees to keep health during work by self-adjustment and heatstroke prevention measures. Meanwhile, they asked the related departments and teams to adopt heatstroke prevention measures during hot days, and always put safety in first place. Thanks to the hard work of all employees since the beginning of the year, the company has achieved the historically best profits in the first half of the year, which increased the company’s confidence in improving quality and efficiency. We still have a lot of work to do in the next half of the year, and we need to work even harder to achieve this year’s targets while always regarding safety as the top of all.
