A national investigation team headed by Mr. Xie Zhenhua, the special representative of China Climate Change Affairs and the vice director of the Population, Resources and Environment Committee of the National Committee of CPPCC, came to FREP for a special investigation on July 31^st. The investigation, targeted at the important subject of “research on problems with regard to promoting national ecological progress”, included several parts, including listening to report and site investigation, etc. The team was accompanied by Mr. Liu Yanchang, the operation general manager of FREP, who introduced the information about FREP’s ecological industry for environmental protection.

Mr. Liu extended a warm welcome to the team who came to FREP for investigation. He said, FREP advocates advanced safety and environment oriented concept, and always regards clean production and environmental protection as the basis for the sustainable development of the company and for cultivating and enhancing the core competitiveness of the company. We promote the concept of “priority to environmental protection and safety first” by practices of “responsible care” and “corporate citizenship”. Also we strive for whole-process clean production through strict management means, such as clean production review and constantly enhancing employees’ HSE awareness. FREP won the title of “Pace-setter Enterprise” in Energy Efficiency of Ethylene Industry in 2016.

He also mentioned, FREP, as an enterprise who is highly responsible for the society, always cares what the people care as we all live on the same planet, and will take it as a matter of obligation to protect ecological balance and environment. Meanwhile, FREP will also honor its commitment as a “good corporate citizen” by continuously improving performance in environmental protection, actively performing its social responsibility and making contribution to a harmonic society.

The investigation team visited exhibition hall and new CCR, where they asked about the overall production status and process flow. Then they moved to site to learn about the construction of facilities such as production units and safety and environmental protection facilities, and exchanged ideas with site personnel about the construction of enterprise’s ecological environment.

The team highly recognized FREP’s achievements in environmental protection and ecological progress promotion, adding that real changes are happening here. In addition, the team pointed, that FREP shall make full use of advanced experience in promoting ecological progress, and set more concrete and detailed objectives that are closely linked to quality and profits in this regard. While at the same time, continuous innovations shall be made in wide range of sectors such as energy saving and emission reduction, comprehensive resources utilization, cyclic economy, clean production, hi-tech application and environmental afforestation and beautification, etc.,. Hopefully, by doing this, more experience that can be duplicated and promoted will be left for ecological progress.
