2016 Midyear Employee Communication Conference
The 2016 Midyear Employee Communication Conference was held at the conference room on the third floor of Quanzhou office building on August 19th. The conference was anchored by Nouraddin A. Yousuf, the vice president of FREP and attended by company leaders Gu Yuefeng, Nouraddin A. Yousuf, Joost Emmen and Liu Yanchang as well as the general managers and deputy general managers of related departments, the managers of business teams and employee representatives.
At the meeting, Mr. Gu Yuefeng, the chairman of the board and president of the company, made a summary of the operation performances of the company between January and July of 2016. He highly praised the remarkable achievements made in the upper half of the year in terms of profits, cash flow, the procurement of crude oil and marketing, etc. as well as the continuous improvement in operation, innovation management, customer satisfaction and employee care, especially the record high profit achieved in this period. Also, he had a deep analysis of the challenges facing FREP at the present, pointing that new market situation brings new opportunities, we must seize these opportunities through joint efforts and own advantages. Talking about the key work in the following five months, he emphasized four points: (1) ensure work safety by reducing recordable events and non-scheduled shutdowns; (2) conduct continuous optimization and improvement based on the collaborative advantages of refining-chemical integration so as to put the plant in operation at the maximum load, while on the other hand make full use of internal and external resources, capture market opportunities and maximize the production scale of high value products; (3) expand marketing as much as possible, try to seek breakthroughs in diesel sales, stabilize the sales volume of jet fuel and make improvement as could as possible, and continue on developing new polyolefin products so as to make ready for future competition; (4) reduce cost and expense, such as optimizing procurement strategies according to the changes in crude oil market, further lowering the procurement cost of crude oil, strengthening market analysis, conducting stricter plan management and control, maintaining a low inventory of crude oil, raw materials and products, and promoting the implementation of energy optimization project in the plant.
Mr. Joost Emmen, the vice president of the company made a report on Safety/Reliability. In the report, he interpreted the vision of FREP, which is to become a world class petrochemical company with sustainable competitiveness. To reach the goal, he said, means we must achieve extraordinary performances in all business sectors, including safety, health, environmental protection, security & monitoring, reliability, profitability and customer satisfaction, etc., especially, the safety/reliability, which is our root. And he hoped that all employees and parties would join hands to build a world class FREP through effective OIMS & reliability system, enhancing leadership, hand-in-hand activities and constantly improving the operating indexes for work safety.
At last, Mr. Gu took questions from employee representatives about the company’s internal development system, staff development plan, communication mechanism and cross-functional accountability. He clearly pointed that the company adopts human-oriented policies to motivate employees, and provides a fair, just and open competition platform for all employees. He also introduced new practices, new policies and new look of the company.
