Upon the arrival of 2016 World Environment Day, FREP held an "Plant Open Day" event on June 1, inviting resident representatives of the surrounding community to walk into the plant area for inspecting the safety and environmental protection, production and operation and so on. There were more than 150 resident representatives from the villages of Houtian, Xianfeng, Qiucuo and Shicuo, etc., around FREP attending the activity. The leaders of FREP, including Nouraddin A.Yousuf, Parut Chatikavanij and Yang Hongbin, as well as responsible officers of Process Department, HSE Department, HR & Admin. Dept. conducted face-to-face communications with representatives of community residents.

     Nouraddin A.Yousuf, Vice President of FREP, firstly welcomed representatives of community residents to visit FREP, and expressed gratitude to the community friends who have been support the construction and development of FREP. He said that FREP, as a large Sino-foreign petrochemical enterprise, has always placed the health, safety, and environmental protection on the top of all works, continued to improve safety and environmental performance, committed to the harmonious and sustainable development of enterprise, society, and communities and made efforts to build FREP into a recognized model. At the same time, we ask each employee working for FREP to enhance the individual and corporate safety and environmental performance. The health, safety and environmental protection is always higher than the economic benefits, wherever and whenever possible.

Vice president Parut Chatikavanij said that the “Open Day for Plant” will enable community residents to learn more about the efforts made by FREP in construction, production and operation, and in particular the environmental protection, to understand the close relationship between daily life and petrochemical enterprises. FREP will proceed with construction and development, while benefiting the society. At the same time, FREP will establish a good relationship with communities and governments, cooperating in building and sharing the beautiful homeland.

After that, led by the professionals, a delegation of residents happily visited the Exhibition Hall of the Company, the central control room, production plant and listened to the technicians explaining the petrochemical knowledge and communicated face to face with them over the topics of interest.

“When we walked into the plant and visited the site, we can feel the efforts made by petrochemical enterprises in safety, environmental protection, and smooth operation etc., and understand their implementation of the international advanced management mode and use of advanced science and technology for building a harmonious community locally and contributing to local economic development." a representative of community residents, who walked into FREP for visiting the production device upon completion of visiting, said with relief.

Through the visit, representatives of the residents expressed great interest in commitment of FREP towards sustainable development and responsible care, increased the understanding of the petrochemical enterprises, knew that life is inseparable from the petrochemical business, and expected FREP to manage the plant well, and they will work together to maintain good neighborhood relation.
