The 3^rd Innovation Day Award Ceremony of the Company was held in the meeting room of the Exhibition Hall on the afternoon of Feb. 17. Company management Mr. Gu Yuefeng, Mr. Nouraddin A. Yousuf, Mr. Parut Chatikavanij, Mr. Yang Hongbin and Mr. Liu Yanchang attended the award ceremony and presented trophies to the winners of the 3^rd Innovation Day activity. They looked forward to see more “golden ideas” for innovation from employees so as to positively drive scientific development of the Company. The achievements of the 3^rd Innovation Day activity demonstrated the Company’s strength and fulfillments in innovation in key focus areas of safety, reliability, optimization and improvement, cost reduction, market development and people management.

Chairman and President Mr. Gu Yuefeng thanked all participants, award winners, and the working team of the Innovation Day activity for their hard work. He pointed out that the 3^rd Innovation Day activity acted as a good carrier and offered a good platform for advices/ suggestion about the key focus areas of the Company and improvement of quality/ profit. Employees widely engaged in discussing profit, reliability, margin improvement etc. They were willing to bring forward their thoughts and take actions. It was a demonstration of employees’ wisdom and the healthy environment and positive energy of the Company. Mr. Gu Yuefeng expressed his thanks to their contributions.  

He emphasized what reiterated by Chairman Mr. Xi Jinping was that implementation of innovation-driven development strategy and improvement of self-innovation ability would be the key, and improvement of self-innovation ability rested in the assurance by system and mechanism. The Company shall focus on translating employees’ “golden ideas” to the “golden key” that drives the scientific development of the Company. Especially in response to current tough market challenges, the Company management and all employees should further enhance cross-functional cooperation, unite in solidarity, fight against difficulties and contribute to the scientific development of the Company. At the same time, he expected to hear more and better “golden ideas” in next year. Innovation never ends. We shall pass the flame and transform “golden ideas” into practical measures in building a world class petrochemical company with sustainable competitiveness and jointly building/ sharing a beautiful home of FREP.

Mr. Lin Xu, the Sponsor of the 3^rd Innovation Day activity and M&S Department GM presented the “Gelivable Award”. 

The 3^rd Innovation Day activity kicked off on Jun. 17, 2015 and concluded on Dec. 31, 2015, which last for 7 months. Employees offered advice constructively on the Five KFAs and the management/ profit improvement program. Thanks to the active engagement, the Working Team of the 3^rd Innovation Day Committee received 449 ideas in total and selected 6 winners of the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd prizes of Edison Award; among the 460 executed ideas collected from previous years, 10 won the Execution Award.
