In the New Year’s sunshine, we strode forward with robust steps towards the hopeful year 2016.

  1427 employees from Grand FPCL including FPCL, FREP, Fujian Linde Gas, Fujian Rubber, Fuyuan and Ruisheng companies took part in the Company’s 12^th New Year Long-Distance Race on the morning of Jan. 9, in the hope to embrace the New Year with happy running.

New Year Long-Distance Race is a traditional activity of the Grand FPCL with the aim to comprehensively improve employees’ quality, enrich their cultural lives and motivate employees and their families to work hard in solidarity, make progressive efforts and contribute their wisdom and strength to the leapfrog development of the Company and to building a beautiful and happy homeland.

During the pregame warm-up, athletes wore sport suits in various colors and got poised for the race in the living quarter stadium. One of the participant athletes said, “We hurried here from Quanzhou Binhai Huating just to take part in this New Year Long-Distance Race. After 2015 old plant TAR, the plant has started up successfully. I hope our company will carry forward the spirit of ‘One Team, One Goal’ and enjoy more prosperous and more glorious prospect just like the New Year Long-Distance Race. Another participant said, “I hope more and more people will take part in the long distance running. I wish FPCL and FREP a more flourishing and greater New Year.”

Chen Xiaobo, the Company’s Party Secretary, addressed the audience and said, “The Company’s ‘Embrace New Year, Celebrate Anniversary, Boost Development and Promote Harmony” Long-Distance Race’ has been held for 11 times. Over the past 11 years, we united as one, worked hard and achieved the second leapfrog development. 2015 in particular, FREP achieved the highest economic benefit in its history; FPCL and Taiwan joint venture – Gulei refining and petrochemical integrated project has held a solemn cornerstone laying ceremony. The new journey of the third leapfrog development of the Grand FPCL is under our feet. Let’s forge towards our goal, fight hard and progress ahead under the leadership of our company’s new management and the Company’s Party Committee. Wish a happier and brighter future of our Grand FPCL!”

Gu Yuefeng, FREP Chairman and President, announced, “The Company’s 12^th New Year Long-Distance Race Starts Now!”

At 9:30, with the starting gun going off, FPCL and FREP leaders Gu Yuefeng, Chen Xiaobo, Liu Xiangdong, Nouraddin A. Yousuf, Yang Hongbin, Liu Yanchang, Hu Hongye, Li Siyang and Chen Feishan took the lead and set out from the stadium in the very front of the long-distance race team, kicking off the New Year Long-Distance Race. 31 teams from FPCL, FREP, Fujian Linde Gas, Fujian Rubber, Fuyuan and Ruisheng companies followed in succession from the stadium towards East Yifeng Road. The whole journey is 8km long.

Along the way, employees’ families and pedestrians cheered for and pepped up the athletes spontaneously. The sun shone on everyone’s face with sweat of the forehead glittering. Led by the pace maker, athletes ran swiftly with fighting will, which demonstrated good spirituality of the Company’s employees. 

Ultimately, representative teams from HSE Fire Fighting Brigade, Process Department, Technical & Planning Department, Ruisheng Company, Mechanical Department, Meizhou Bay Chlor-Alkali Company, Fuyuan Company, FPCL, Terminal Business Team and Offsite Business Team won the group top 10.
