The Lantern Festival is an important traditional festival in China, and eating rice glue dumplings is one of the customs for celebrating the Lantern Festival. Eating rice glue dumplings on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month means a happy reunion.

In the evening of March 2^nd, the eve of Lantern Festival, the Company Labor Union held rice glue dumplings-making competition themed “Live up Spring Festival, Reunite at Lantern Festival” at the restaurant of the Fulian building in Quanzhou, and 40 teams from various units of Big Fulian participated in the competition.

FPCL management Mr. Gu Yuefeng, Mr. Chen Xiaobo, Mr. Liu Xiangdong, Mr. Yang Hongbin, Mr. Lin Xu and Mr. Zhao Tianxing, FREP management Mr. Joost Emmen, Mr. Nouraddin A. Yousuf, Fujian Gulei Petrochemical Company management Mr. Xie Ronghui were at the site to watch the competition and enjoy the holiday.

The event site was busy and joyful. The representatives of each team gathered together to experience the fun of making rice glue dumplings, dumplings and cold dishes, show their skills and enjoy happiness.

The smiling faces, the rice glue dumplings and dumplings, and the strong feeling were all reflected in this moment. Everyone was feeling the joy of the festival, laughing and talking in a joyful atmosphere. And some children were also involved in the activities. At the same time, the blessings of the new year were sent to everyone at the site together with those stuffed and round rice glue dumplings.

Within an hour, the round rice glue dumplings, dumplings of different flavors, colorful dishes were served on the table, especially those vivid sculptures in platters, attracting a lot of appreciation and cheers. As everyone was sharing the delicious food, laughter and joy were melted into the glutinous rice glue dumplings and dumplings.

According to the color, smell, taste, shape, meaning and nutrition, the professional judges of the cooking skills made comprehensive scores. Finally, the general manager office in FPCL, HR&A Department in FREP won the first prizes; LFG, the comprehensive maintenance and instrument group in Mechanical Department and the product quality center in Technical & Planning Department in FREP won the 2^nd prizes; Supply & Distribution Department, the project management and design group from Technical & Planning Department, labor union in Process Department, Finance and Audit labor union in FREP, Fuyuan Company and the electrical maintenance group in Mechanical Department won the third prizes.

The activities for this year's Lantern Festival were rich and colorful. At Quanzhou Binhai Huating community, the rice glue dumplings-making competition was held. The round rice glue dumplings were indicating reunion; at Quangang living area cultural palace, a guessing lantern riddles activity was held, and the lantern riddles connected the ancient and modern history. The Lantern Festival events not only inherit Chinese splendid culture of 5000 years, but also enrich the employees’ life and demonstrate the charm of traditional art.
