ExxonMobil Chemical SVP Ms. Karen McKee Visited the Company


On January 17th, ExxonMobil Chemical SVP Ms. Karen McKee, ExxonMobil Refining SVP Mr. Dave Brownell, Chairman of ExxonMobil (China) Investment Co., Ltd Mr. Fernando Vallina in a group of 8 persons visited FREP.

The OOP members Mr. Joost Emmen, Mr. Nouraddin A. Yousuf, Mr. Lin Xu and Mr. Zhao Tianxing welcomed Ms. Karen McKee and her delegation and had a good discussion between the two sides.

President Mr. Joost Emmen first welcomed Ms. Karen McKee and her delegation. On behalf of the OOP, he reported the Company’s performance in 2017. He said that according to the BOD decisions and deployment, the Company kept improving safety performance, implementing OIMS and strictly observing the requirements of laws and regulations. The whole organization attached great importance to safety, focused on safety behavior and equipment condition, and kept enhancing reliability. In terms of production and operation, with adjusted crude oil inventory strategy and increased chemical units load, the ethylene production broke through 1.2MT, creating the best-ever profits for the Company and realizing the first time shareholders dividends. At the same time, it had been vigorously developing the domestic and international markets, with jet fuel successfully sold to the international market and naphtha etc. chemical feedstock imported for the first time, which further expanded the import and export channels for feedstock and product. The Company would further optimize management, improve unit reliability, and bring the advantage of integrated refining and chemical to full play.

President Mr. Joost Emmen commented that OOP was confident, by joint efforts of the management, to work on safety and environmental protection, pay attention to production and operation, seize market opportunities, optimize products slate, and maximize profit to pay back shareholders, and the Company looked forward to shareholders’ support.

Ms. Karen McKee fully recognized the excellent performance and best ever profit that the company had achieved, and appreciated OOP for their unremitting efforts. She said that the key focus areas and priorities mentioned by Mr. Emmen were in line with her views. Safety comes the first. Based on this concept, FREP’s safety performance had witnessed significant improvement, including the increased number of reported near misses, which helped good risk management; the effective operation of OIMS2.1 risk identification and management facilitated the formation of a positive management mode to identify and remove risks dynamically; the effective implementation of last minute risk assessment improved safety awareness of the whole organization and effective management on risks.

Ms. Karen McKee and her company highly praised the Company’s achievements in reliability management. They expected that the Company could keep focusing on safety and reliability, and maintain good financial performance, and look forward to further strengthening the cooperation between shareholders, so as to enhance the Company’s performance and profitability.

The two sides also exchanged views on the topics of interest.
