Wave goodbye to 2017, and proceed to 2018, we embraced the New Year by running...

In the morning of January 6^th, in the first rain in the new year, at the sports ground in Quangang living area, more than 1,200 employees from FPCL, FREP, Fujian Gulei Petrochemical Co., Ltd., LFG, Fuxiang Co., Ltd., Meizhou Bay Chlor-alkali Co., Ltd., Fuyuan Co., Ltd., Ruisheng Co., Ltd., Minnan Hospital, Youcheng Public Security Sub-Bureau and other units of the Big Fulian participated in the 14^th New Year Long-distance Race of the Company, to embrace the new year by running.

The New Year Long-distance Race is a traditional activity of the Big Fulian, aiming at raising employees’ quality, enriching their cultural life, and stimulating the employees and their families to work hard in the New Year, and to contribute wisdom and make efforts to the leap-forward development of the Company.

During the warm-up before the race, the runners in colored raincoats were ready to go in the wind and rain at the sports ground in the living area. A participant said, “I came from Binhai Huating Residence of Quanzhou City to take part in the race for the New Year. The best profit performance created by FREP in 2017 is inspiring. I sincerely hope that the Company has a flourishing and brilliant future by carrying out the spirit of “one team one goal” , as same as the New Year race activity.

Another participant said, “I hope that more and more people will be involved in running sport. I hope that FPCL and FREP will be more prosperous in the New Year.”

In his speech, Mr. Chen Xiaobo, secretary of the Company Party Committee, said that as this year’s race kicked off in the wind and rain, FPCL has completed a 29-year journey, and FREP has celebrated its 10-year anniversary. Now we were at the new historical starting line, in faced with tests in the new era. We shall remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind, demonstrating what general secretary Xi Jinping said in his New Year address “happiness is achieved through hard work”, and embracing the bright future of the harmonious and happy Big Fulian with unremitting efforts.

Mr. Yang Hongbin, the deputy secretary of the Company Party Committee, secretary of the Discipline Committee and chairman of Labor Union commented in his speech, the race was a general review on the physical and mental situation of the management and employees of Big Fulian, as well as a mobilization for cohesion in building a innovative, developed, harmonious and happy new Fulian. And it was bound to set off a new upsurge of plant-wide fitness, and to promote the blueprint painting for Big Fulian.

Mr. Hu Hongye, deputy general manager of FPCL, announced the start of the 14th New Year Long-distance Race of the Company.

At 9:30 in the morning, with the starting gun rang, senior management of FPCL including Mr. Chen Xiaobo, Mr. Yang Hongbin and Mr. Hu Hongye, and senior management of FREP including Mr. Joost Emmen, Mr. Nouraddin A. Yousuf and Mr. Lin Xu started from the sports ground, leading the running team and raising the curtain of the new year race.

33 teams composed of employees from FPCL, FREP, Fujian Gulei Petrochemical Co., Ltd., LFG, Fuxiang Co., Ltd., Fuyuan Co., Ltd., Ruisheng Co., Ltd. and other units started running in succession from the sports ground to East Yifeng Road. The whole course was 7 km.

Along the way, the families of the employees and the roadside pedestrians spontaneously cheered for the runners. Against the wind and rain, sweat on everybody’s face together with rain.

In this year, Fulian cycling team also participated in the race. They led the running teams to carry on in the rain, which became beautiful scenery. Under the guidance of the cycling team, the runners were advancing quickly, demonstrating the good spirit of the employees.

At the end of the race, in the rain, the Company held the award ceremony and vice president Mr. Lin Xu announced the results of the race.

The fire brigade of HSE Department, the united team of Process Department, Ruisheng Company, Mechanical Department, Minnan Hospital, Technical & Planning Department, Fuyuan Company, Meizhou Bay Chlor-alkali Co., Ltd, Terminals Business Team, and Olefin Business Team, etc. were ranked the top 10.
